My top five eyeliners this 2013

Okay, I'm cheating here. I technically won't be writing about five eyeliners only, because that's not as fun as, say, a dozen ones! I will however be talking about five brands that make crazy amazing eyeliners. These are the ones that smudge minimally, if at all, and never fade even if you wear them until the sun sets (or rises if you roll that way). These are the eyeliners I always pick up simply because they're reliable.

I have also included some eyeliners worth an honorable mention. ;) Let's get cracking!

K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliners. My current HG eyeliner is the K-Palette liquid eyeliner - the waterproof one. This is the best in terms of staying power and ease of application! I've worn it for 15 hours and it has never, ever fallen apart. It's what I wear when I know I'm going to have a long day and have zero time to fuss with smudgy eyes.

The K-Palette pencils have amazing pigmentation and staying power as well, but they do smudge if they're not applied on some sort of powdered/primed surface. They're great just as long as I am wearing something underneath 'em.

MAC Fluidline, Technakohl, and Powerpoint eye liners. The MAC Fluidline was my HG eyeliner before K-Palette. K-Palette beats it only because the gel eyeliner requires a clean brush everytime I use it; I simply don't always have the time to rummage for a brush and then wash it. Otherwise, the Fluidline is fairly water-resistant, doesn't smudge, doesn't fade, and lasts up to 2.5 years if you take care of it properly.

The MAC Technakohl is a great automatic liner, in terms of staying power. The texture is harder than I would like, but it's one of the very few eyeliners that actually stay on my waterline all day! The Powerpoint Eye Pencil is creamier than Technakohl, and comes in loads of gorgeous colors. I have one in this shimmery navy blue and I love how it brings out the brown in my eyes.

Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner and Long-Wear Eye Pencil. Bobbi Brown's gel liners are much like the MAC Fluidline, but they are somewhat drier. That can actually be a good thing if you're a newbie, since the gel turns out to be easier to control with less of a tendency to skid over wrinkles. BB's eyeliners pretty much stays put all day!

The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil in Jet is easily the blackest, most opaque eyeliner I own. It's matte, and draws the eyes like a magnet because of how richly intense it is. This feature comes at a price though - it tends to smudge if not properly primed and set.

Eye of Horus Natural Smoky Eye Pencil in Black. This is one of my oft-used eyeliners because it's so kohl-y, I can skip eyeshadow altogether. I just apply a thick line on my upper and/or lower lids, then smudge it with the sponge tip. I love that quick smoky look, but more than that, I appreciate that the eyeliner doesn't become messy even if it is smudged up intentionally.

Staying power is great! The texture of the pencil is soft but when it sets, it means business.

Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil. Up to this day, it's a struggle for me to believe that these auto-liners are only P150 at the drugstore (Watsons, to be specific). I actually have a Stila eyeliner that has the same packaging, texture, staying power, pigmentation etc. like this Essence one, which makes me suspect that the supplier is the same (Essence is German, which is where a LOT of cosmetics are manufactured).

In any case, the Essence pencils are probably the best drugstore eyeliners available here. In my opinion, ok. I've added a couple of new colors to my collection, and plan to get more in the future!

And these are the honorable mentions haha. They're pretty good too, but I just don't use them as often. Too many other options! The NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Barrow Street is a gorgeous mint that has amazing wear time - but well, how often can I wear mint? I would love to check out the other colors! Then here's the  Kanebo Kate Gel Eyeliner and Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner. They're great gel liners, plus they're inexpensive. Another eyeliner I enjoy using is the Etude House Color Pop Drawing Show Pencils. Love the color selection, and the price tag too. ;)

So there you go guys, hope you enojyed the list! Share your top eyeliners here as well!
