Capsule review: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Collection
Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 9:16AM When I first heard that Katie Holmes is the first and (so far) only celebrity endorser of Bobbi Brown cosmetics, I gave a big internal whoop. The pairing is perfect! Katie has always been polished, elegant, and discreet, much like the trademark Bobbi Brown look. I honestly am looking forward to their upcoming campaign together, see what these two pretty powerful girls can come up with!

Anyway today I want to review some things that I've been using for a couple of months now: the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Collection. It features a mascara, eyeliner, and cream shadow that is guaranteed to last from coffee to cocktails. I love the concept, and I'm sure you would too if you hate touching up your eye makeup!
Here's what I think of each product in the collection.

The Bobbi brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Shore (P1,450) is my favorite out of the bunch. The formula and shade is absolutely amazing! It's super creamy yet thin, then dries into a velvety, budge and smear-proof layer on my lids. This doesn't crease at all.

At first I was all "meh" about Shore, a boring-looking matte neutral beige, but when I got to know it better it's now one of my favorite eyeshadows. When I'm not in the mood to wear any color on my lids, I just use this all over to brighten up my eye area. It's practically invisible except my lids just look softer, more delicate and velvety.

I guess the only thing that I don't like about it is how small that opening of the jar is. It's hard to get my finger in so I need to pick up a brush if I want to avoid accidentally digging out the product. Oh well. Hope Bobbi comes out with bigger rims in the future!

Next up is the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil in Jet (P1,450). This is the blackest, mattest (if that's even a word!) eyeliner I own. It's intensely pigmented so you only need one swipe to get an opaque black line. It doesn't fade or smear through sweat and oil, though expect a teeny bit of smudging at the outer tips. It stays fine on the waterline nonetheless.

The pencil is creamy and easy to work with as long as you sharpen it regularly. The stumpier it gets, the harder it is to get a perfect line, so keep the tip sharp for easier application.

Lastly, here's the Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara in Black (P1,550). Bobbi makes some of the most undetectable, natural-looking lash enhancers out there. This new mascara is not an exception. It lengthens and defines lashes nicely, and it's so natural that it doesn't feel like mascara at all! As in when I touch my lashes it's like I'm just touching hair.

Some mascaras get crunchy and flaky once they dry on lashes, but Bobbi's Long-Wear Mascara is soft and pliable even when it's completely dry. Other than that it curls nicely even without a lash curler and never feels heavy on the lids.

The tiny brush provides clean and idiot-proof application

While this mascara does stay on all day without smudging, it's not waterproof. If you get it in contact with water, it will smear and dissolve. That's great come removal time since you just need water to wipe it off. However if you have watery eyes or engage in physically demanding activities then a waterproof mascara is a better choice.

Overall, the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Collection is a nice splurge for office girls who need eye products that are work-safe, convenient, and reliable. I highly recommend the Long-Wear Cream Shadow - it's great for applying makeup on the go, just use your fingers, blend, and voila! No need to wear a primer or set it with powder. Great stuff.
And that's it! Hope you enjoyed my capsule review. ;) I just noticed, I mostly talked about eye products this week. I'll continue the trend with a review of an affordable eyeshadow palette tomorrow! Oh don't forget to follow Bobbi Brown Philippines on Facebook to catch their news and promos.

The cream shadow looks reaaaaaallly nice!:) gotta get that one on the next payday ;)
Bobbi Brown makes great products but quite expensive. Well, lots of women won't care as to the amazing quality from Bobbi Brown! :) and as for the endorser, Katie Holmes is perfect! I sometimes think Bobbi and Katie may have many similar features! As to the products from coffee to cocktails, I was about to get their mascara but kind of expensive for my budget :)) I am still a student so I don't have lots of savings to splurge on makeup :P I was able to use a product from Bobbi Brown and until now, I still have it and it always works wonders for me :) And btw, I am now interested with the creamshadow in shore :P thanks Ms. Liz!
Katie really is the perfect celeb endorser for Bobbie Brown, simple yet glamourous.
I'll probably get their pencil eyeliner if ever I get the chance to splurge. I also like their liquid foundie
That eyeliner looks amazing - parang hindi pencil eyeliner!
Wow! That pencil liner is amazing. It's so opaque, it looks like you applied liquid eyeliner on your lids!
Pretty stiff for that mascara but sure looks great on you. I'd like to try the long wear shadow, best for lazy days :)
The cream shadow caught my eye! Liking that eyeliner too! Parang liquid lang inilagay! Too bad the mascara's not waterproof, not good when I suddenly get emo on pms-ing days. :P
A mascara that doesn't feel heavy is very interesting. I rarely wear mascara because I feel that it weighs my lids down. Sadly, it is a splurge product. Do you recommend any dupes?
I love the eyeliner and the shadow! Def a splurge product but the shadow looks worth it. :)
Will splurge on their foundation and concealers! :D
But now that you recommended Shore.. I just might!!! AHHH GIRL STUFF:P
Katie Holmes is perfect for Bobbi Brown, as the first celebrity endorser, Katie epitomizes everything that Bobbi Brown make up is - simple yet stunning and timeless!
The eyeliner really looks promising! It looks really pigmented too. Worth the splurge if you have extra moolah to burn.
The cream shadow in Bone reminds me of MAC's Paint Pot in Painterly--which is cheaper by a couple of hundreds at Php1,000. MAC's Painterly is probably not as as long lasting though. The eye pencil looks nice. I currently use MUFE's Aqua Eyes liner and it still smudges and fades on me. I don't remember how the aqua eyes eye liner costs, but this sounds like a great alternative! Thanks for the review.
