Vlog: Mascara Madness

I didn't care much for mascaras before, but when I started wearing contacts, my feelings towards this particular product changed. I rarely go out of the house now without at least a swipe of it! Over the last few months, I was lucky to get to try some of the newest and best mascaras out there so I thought of doing a quick video review of all of them.

I'd like to apologize in advance for rambling, but in any case, I hope you find this video useful when you choose your next mascara purchase. Out of all these, I highly recommend the Color Collection Triple Effect Mascara, the VMV Hypoallergenics Ooh-La-Lash! Volumizing Mascara, and the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Mascara - they're awesome.

I also threw in a few tips on how to wear mascara. Basically, deposit most of the gunk on the base of your lashes, then go upwards in soft strokes to deposit the rest of the product. You need to work fast so the mascara doesn't clump. ;)

Here are the reviews of most of the mascaras I featured in the video:

 Revlon Grow Luscious by Fabulash /  L'Oreal Curl Impact Collagene Mascara / VMV Hypoallergenics Ooh-La-Lash! Volumizing Mascara / Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Mascara /  Clinique Lash Power Volumizing Mascara / Color Collection Triple Effect Mascara

PS Any requests for video features or tutorials? Throw 'em here!

Hi Liz,

For Mascara, Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara (the orange one) is best-invention-second-only-to-instant-noodles for girls like me who have not been endowed with long, thick, lashes. It has this genius of a wand that separates my lashes, makes it look that I actually have a lot, and the rubbery bristles give my lashes that sexy oomph. :) Price is between P580-630 at Watson's.

So many mascaras to choose from. I like mascaras that will come off easily when removed. And mascaras that doesn't look too falsies. I like it just right.

Lol when you took out the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander I literally went \o/ and said yay. (probably cause it's a bit late) Omg oAo also there's such a thing as a bottom lash mascara that's so interesting!!! Thanks for all the info on the mascaras and application tips. I've always felt like I'm not very good at applying mascara so i feel the tips really help >w<

Whoa!!! Miss Liz, you have lots of mascaras to choose from! Thanks for sharing each characteristics of those mascaras you have and your TIPS. Hmm, Is it true that us girls must throw out our mascaras after 6months to replace it with a brand new one???

@Joie ive been hearing so many good things about that mascara! but i dont want to buy right now since i have a lot in my stash at the moment. i'll definitely keep it in mind though next time i go mascara shopping!

@osenorita i feel ya!

@Kat i love the bottom lash mascara! quite a novelty yet very useful. :D the trick is to just practice and practice till you find a technique that works for you!

@khae well, that's what they recommend, but i personally don't follow this rule. As long as the mascara isn't dry and doesn't have a funky rancid smell, I still use it. so yes, better check the mascara regularly to see if the formula is becoming watery, if it's changing color, or getting a different smell.

@Issa swear, one of the best! it gives me a very natural fringe of lashes.

my two staples are: L'oreal Telescopic Clean(lengthening) and Max Factor 2000 Calorie(volume).

If I need to get my flirt on with my lashes, I brush with my Telescopic first, then I give my lashes 3 to 4 coats of the 2000 Calorie.Just in case they clump, I brush with the Telescopic to separate my lashes.

Will die if they get discontinued. I cannot afford to maintain a Lancome!
