Artdeco Eyeshadows and Custom Palette System
Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:37AM The best kind of eyeshadow palette is one where you can choose all the colors yourself. Agree/ agree? I've been collecting MAC eyeshadows in the 15-pan palette, but I haven't completed it yet considering it costs roughly P16,000 all things considered. I also have a Shu Uemura customizeable palette (one of my faves!) but it costs around P4,000 for a four-color case. Not too bad if you don't mind investing, but if you're a student on a budget, that can be unrealistic.

So when I was a student, guess what I got for myself? Artdeco eyeshadows! I think I had six of them back then. Since I was too cheap to buy the magnetic palette, I kept them in a small tin case that used to house chocolates. What can I say - when you're saving, you have to improvise!

That's not to say that Artdeco eyeshadows are cheap ha. They're still pricey at P350 each, with the palette selling for P450 (four slots, if I remember correctly). If you want to fill up a quad, that'll set you back P1,850. But compare it to other customizeable brands I mentioned above, and it will come up fairly affordable. Expensive yes, but affordable if you're looking for that one special palette.

The quality of the eyeshadows are good. They're pigmented, smooth, and well-milled although they're not as rich as a MAC or a Shu shadow of course. Just use a base to make them truly opaque (try the ArtDeco Eyeshadow Base - it's fantastic!).

The palette has a magnetic strip at the bottom where you just attach the colors as is. Unlike with MAC where you can to go through pain (literally) to remove the shadow from the packaging, Artdeco eyeshadows are ready to snap on. You can also place a blush (three slots) or a concealer (two slots) instead of eyeshadows if that's more your thing.

There's also a 12-pan custom box where you can put pretty much anything you want. Aside from eyeshadows, blushes, and concealers, Artdeco also sells their eyebrow powders in the snap-on magnetic pans.

Super neat right? So yes, if you want to create The Ultimate Palette, you should definitely try out the products from Artdeco. Like I said in my brand review before, it's the brand to go for when you want pro quality makeup for much less. :)
As usual, let me know what you think!

Artdeco is available in all Beauty Bar branches

my favorite palettes are from anothersoul on etsy. very convenient and not the typical black palettes you can get here. plus, it's just an empty container with no allotted slots like MAC so you can put any thing from any brand with no problems.
and I love depotting! hahaha, i don't think it's painful, it's relaxing :D seeing all your es organized
the artdeco palette is so clever! it's fantastic that they really thought things out, even taking the sizes of the different products into consideration so the palette is very flexible. does the palette come in only one design? :)
@Sabrina Gotta try that one soon! I have lots of small powder pans lying about. I don't get to use them so putting them all in one place should encourage me.
@Isa no, the one i featured here is limited edition. :D The normal ones are in glossy black.
i have art deco nail polishes and they are of good quality but i never tried their make up, now i think i wanna try their cosmetics as these palettes look nice.
Like what I've said countless times, I'm so happy with my Kate and Kanebo eyeshadows that I don't see myself buying new palettes anytime soon, but their eyebrow powder, worth a shot, I guess. Well of course, I would love to have Benefit's brow zings in my beauty kit but it's just too expensive for me. And since you've been telling us about how fabulous Art Deco is, I think it's a great alternative to pricey stuff like those from Benefit. I'm no pro when it comes to making those Brook Shields eyebrows, but I'm definitely definitely dying to master the craft. Pencils don't work very well for me so I'm decided to try my luck with eyebrow powders :)
i am now intrigued with this brand.. i haven't tried anything from Artdeco... nice palettes you featured here and what i like about it is it is flexible!
I really love customizable palettes, although they are a bit pricey. But if the shadows have great quality I won't mind to splurge a bit. I wonder why artdeco for Beauty Bar here in Cebu still hasn't arrive yet. ^_^
Can these art deco palettes be used to house other magnetic makeup such as tarte and inglot? Thanks!
