Are you ready for December? I don’t think I am. I still don’t have my Christmas tree up. I haven’t selected my gift wrapper for this year. I don’t even have my holiday red lipsticks in order yet! Lipglosses, lipsticks, and powders were my first makeup items from Avon. They have always impressed me with their vibrant colors and good staying power with an affordable price tag. The Avon Power Stay 24-Hour Liquid Foundation (P499) is my most recent discovery from the brand and here's what happened when I tried it out.

I hit my mid-30s halfway through this year, just a couple of months after our son turned a year old. My hobbies now include taking daily selfies with our hyperactive toddler. Sharam sharam, sharam sharam... Only 90’s kids will get the reference, but that Donna Cruz song’s catchy portion has been stuck in my head since I received the Avon Anew Reversalist collection. The ageless beauty is the brand’s ambassador, and her flawless skin is definitely something to behold. The Anew Reversalist line is a brand best-seller and customer favorite, so I’ve taken on the two-week challenge to see if it can help my papery dry skin achieve even a fraction of Donna’s enduring awra.

The latest to ride the Hallyu wave is none other than Avon, a well-loved beauty brand that secured its spot in our kikay kits and dressers long before Watsons even became a thing. 

Have you ever looked at your lipstick collection and noticed a pattern? There’s probably one shade that you purchase more frequently than others. Some people can’t live without their 50 shades of red, while I personally can’t get enough of plums and MLBB pinks. My fellow PV girls are well-aware of this and give me a nudge when they spot something they know I’d like!

I sometimes tend to forget that Avon is not a local brand. Witnessing the strong foothold that Avon has had on our market growing up, I’m convinced that at least 90% of Filipinas have tried an Avon product at least once in their life. While I’ve never been particularly drawn to their makeup, I have heard good things about the Mark. by Avon line. Supposedly the edgier and trendier sister to the True Color brand, Mark. offers playful, creative products at the affordable price point that Avon is known for.

It’s so easy to take health for granted. I’ve never been hospitalized my life so far, so I tend to be careless about taking good care of myself. However, I do try to be self-aware and pay attention to any changes in my body.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and though the month has already passed, getting checked is something that women should do regularly. Self-examination only takes up a little bit of time, but can make a huge difference in helping to detect breast cancer. Recently I went to the Avon Pink Minute event in the Quezon Memorial Circle where they gathered breast cancer survivors and other members of their community to raise breast cancer awareness.

I had a lot of not-so-positive misconceptions about going to the Chinese mainland for the first time last month. I thought it was going to be dirty, noisy, and full of rude people, but that was certainly not the case! I found Shanghai to be a beautiful city that was as mighty as it was poetic. I loved the food, the painfully fashionable Chinese wandering the streets, and the amazing architecture. The Bund, a waterfront area facing the Huangpu River and looking out to the Lujiazui skyline, is a sight to see at night. I wasn't able to explore the city very long but one thing is for sure: I will definitely visit Shanghai again!

The prevailing theme of the modern times seems to have a lot to do with being bold or daring to be different, all done in the name of breaking free. After all, some limitations we only put on ourselves because we are too used to conforming to what society dictates.
