Uh-oh! It’s a Kylie Konflict!

Will the real Kylie please stand up? It looks like more drama is coming Kylie Jenner’s way as an actual beauty battle is in full force. Along with promotions for her new album, Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue launched her new makeup line KYLIE (I know, we’re confused, too)! The internet has been weighing in on the advertisements, the logo, and the shade that this move casts on the youngest Jenner.

Missed the tea? Back in 2015, Minogue stopped Jenner from trademarking their shared first name for a new cosmetics line as she had already been selling products under the Kylie name. Minogue’s team argued that it would be confusing for two different brands to have the same name, which makes sense, but things got shady when reps called Jenner “a secondary reality TV personality” (ouch). The KYLIE makeup line includes a lip oil, cheek and eye glitter, lip gloss, lip color (that can also be a blush), and eyeshadows that are all under $20. You can shop the collection on the Kylie Minogue website here. What do you think of all this drama?

Long Live Karl

He may be gone but his legacy lives on! Karl Lagerfeld is still making waves in both the fashion and beauty community even after his tragic passing back in February. L’Oreal Paris has just revealed that the fashion legend had been working on a makeup collaboration with the brand just before he passed! Channeling that rocker-chic lifestyle and effortless Parisian feel that the designer was known for, the L’Oreal Paris x Karl Lagerfeld Collection is set to launch on September 27 at the eve of Paris Fashion week. There’s no word yet on what the products look like, but we will keep you all updated once we know more!

Estee Lauder'’s hop for worldwide change

Now this is what I call great news! In an effort to help eliminate animal testing worldwide, Estee Lauder Companies has officially announced its partnership with the #BeCrueltyFree Campaign. Led by the Humane Society International, the initiative aims to end global animal testing and provide funds for researching alternative methods for cosmetics testing. Although Estee Lauder Companies already made a pledge to end animal testing on their products 30 years ago, they still have brands being sold in big markets that, by law, require animal testing (like China, for example).

This is a big step for the company, however, as the development of new technologies can spur a global move towards cruelty-free beauty. This also means that we can look forward to seeing the happy leaping bunny on their products! Estee Lauder owns brands like M.A.C., Too Faced, BECCA, Smashbox, La Mer, Origins, Bobbi Brown, Aerin, Jo Malone London, Le Labo, and more. We can’t wait to see how all of this unfolds!

Dubbed as a “dry oil primer”, the lightweight sunscreen is suitable for all skin types and is said to be invisible on the skin. Fast absorbing and refreshing, the formula provides protection from UVA, UVB, and even HEV light - something we gadget addicts definitely need!
