Quick Rave: The K-Palette Lasting Semi-Matte Lip Tint

Full-on matte lipsticks have had their day in the sun, but now their time is over. It’s all about hydrating tints and glosses these days as the beauty crowd moves towards a more comfortable aesthetic! Today I have a new release from one of my fave Japanese brands called the K-Palette Lasting Semi-Matte Lip Tint (P795). It promises to be non-drying and long-wearing - two things that are non-negotiable to the discerning lipstick connoisseur.

So does it deliver? This feels like a creamy lip balm when you apply it. It is supposed to be semi-matte; it looks shiny when it’s fresh but does settle into a mildly matte finish after 30 minutes or so. It doesn’t dry like a normal liquid lipstick. It feels more of a melted lipstick/balm, actually! I find that it’s moisturizing enough by itself so I skip lip balm with this tint.

The doe foot applicator is curved, which makes it easier to wield around corners

I am impressed by its staying power. The K-Palette Lip Tint has full coverage that will stay on for at least three to four hours if you don’t eat or drink, but if you do use your mouth, it leaves a nice, even stain that has your back for another two to three hours. Even with this longevity, this lip tint stays comfortable and never feels crumbly after so many hours on duty. It’s also convenient to reapply since it doesn’t become patchy later on.

This is what Mauve Red looks like fresh and blotted. Both look amazing!

There are two shades available: Mauve Red, and muted strong red with mauve undertones, and Rose Pink, a muted red with pinkish undertones. Both colors are pretty and stain well, but I do wish that K-Palette would release more shades in the future! These two reds look alike. I remember their tinted lip balm had more shades with different undertones.

Overall, I highly recommend the K-Palette Lasting Semi-Matte Lip Tint to anyone who needs an everyday staining color that won’t completely disappear after eating and won’t dry out lips in the process. The colors available right now are basic but versatile. I do look forward to more shades next time! Try this if you’re tired of drying AF watery lip tints that looks patchy and never quite stays on your upper lip (i.e. me).

Thoughts?
