All done: Products I’ve hit pan on

It’s rare for me to finish products because I apply them sparingly and I’m lucky enough to get new things to try all the time. I have intense love affairs with some things, but these fizzle out once I “discover” one that’s better - eventually. Not all the time. Sometimes, a product is so good that I do finish it up and even purchase backups!

So, here are things that I recently finished or just about to finish up. It goes without saying that my wallet is weeping right this moment T_T.

Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover. Goodness, I don’t know how long I’ve had this! Maybe two years? Anyway it’s my favorite product to use when removing waterproof mascaras and deep-staining lipsticks. It doesn’t sting my eyes and melts off most things right away.

Nivea Body UV Whitening Serum SPF25 PA++. This body lotion is ultra light even with the SPF25. It also seems to even out my skintone if I use it regularly and generously. Perhaps the only downside is that, since it’s so thin, I have to use a LOT per application - but for P200+ per tube, it’s hard to nitpick.

Bifesta Sebum Cleansing Lotion. This is love. It takes off everything (that is not waterproof) and cleanses the skin really well. It feels exactly like water so there’s no sting or discomfort as I wipe off all my makeup with it. I’m just disappointed that it takes a lot of liquid and cotton pads per usage but it is fairly affordable (around P400) after all.

Artdeco Camouflage Cream Concealer. I tried to look for other cosmetics that I am about to finish, but it turns out that this concealer is the only one. It’s a staple in my kit so I use it more or less each time I leave the house! This concealer’s opaque coverage, lasting power, and fairly affordable price (about P500) makes it a winner.

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleanser. This is one of the best things that ever happened to my skin. Because of it I don’t have to worry about blackheads and pimples anymore since it cleans so well! I’m so hiyang with it! Definitely hoard-worthy.

Shu Uemura TSUYA Skin Serum. And this is the other best thing that happened to my skin. Ever since I started using it my skin is brighter, less spotty, less pimply - just clearer overall. I feel that it revived my face somehow! The price makes me gulp (P3,000) but it’s a fantastic product so I’ll just close my eyes at the till. ;)

This is a serum that’s best used underneath a moisturizer, but during the day when it’s really hot I use this as a moisturizer by itself. Then I just use an SPF base from Bobbi Brown or a foundation with a high SPF.

So those are products I’ve hit pan on. How about you, are you about to finish anything soon? What do you love most about your staples?

I have a lot of "empties"! Mostly shower gels, mascaras and 2 empty bottle of Avene Soapless Gel Cleanser (staple!). Oh, and some samples from random beauty boxes! I love finishing products - parang ang laking accomplishment! Haha!

You got me curious with the Kiehl's Rare Earth Cleanser! I think a trip to the mall is in order!

I'm almost out of my Gluta-c moringa lotion. I got it few weeks back from Sampleroom. I love it so much, I hoarded 2 bottles. Hehe

I've finished my a bottle of Bioderma sensibio and VMV Skin Savvy 60. I'm glad VMV came out with smaller bottles of the latter. The big bottles were kind of a pain to travel with .

Those intense love affairs/fizzles have happened to me as well. It's usually about a moisturizer I'm in love with, and then something with better ingredients/texture comes along and the old item is all but forgotten. Then I visit the beauty section, see the moisturizer I used to love and think, "That was really nice. I should get that again one day." It's a vicious cycle.

So far, the exact product I've gotten again and again is Maybelline Makeup Remover. It's dirt cheap and works well enough for my entire face. Argan oil is also worth saving up for.

I should invest in SPF body lotion. I've only been using sunblock on the face. The uneven coloring happens gradually. I've just noticed it and I'm really bothered. :(

I'll definitely buy the artdeco one! :D

Ms Liz to add to soni's question, does Art Deco concealer fill wrinkles and then make them appear more visible? I'm worried about that point when it comes to concealers.

I'm about to finish my The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex Angel Skin Pact. It's not that good IMHO. When I wipe my sweat. It comes right off. Maybe that's why I finished it so early XD

I'm so tempted to buy the Tsuya serum! But I just bought Kiehl's MRC and I just can't seem to justify the expense.

I usually hit the pans of my powder foundation (finished Laura Mercier and Avon) and my L'oreal Make-Up Remover (which I use to remove mascara and eyeliner).

Will you be buying the Kiehl's cleanser again? I remember you said that it is identical to the Wonder Pore cleanser, but there must be something extra-awesome about this one if you'll be repurchasing it!

wow you really should do more posts like this liz, ksi were used to reading blogs about hauls and freebies parang bibhira lang ang mga nauubos. anyway, ako im very matipid and prevent impulse buying pero if i love something i get back ups! ganyan nangyari sa snoe hair heroes argan conditioner, i bought back up bottles. ive even emailed snoe na sana naman ay wag idiscontinue. kasi marketing ploy ng ibang companies un un ididscontinue nila para bibili ng bago un consumer or soemthing like that.

i always hit the pan on my maybelline mineral foundation.

like most girls, even if i have a hg product already, i still stray sometimes. pero i try to avoid that kasi oftentimes iend up just going back don sa hg product ko.

i think we should be more conscientious in hitting the pans ng mga ginagamit natin dahil may designated shelf life ang mga cosmetics.

anyway, sa mga nagtatnong, artdeco is available sa beauty bar, maybeauty bar sa high street. got my camouflage cream there and it really works! i also bought the small magnet compact to put it i, ang kyoot pero it really packs a punch dhil opaque ang coverage nito, ladies bili bili na!

I love Pan Porn pics!

I get kilig everytime I finish something. :-) But because I'm lazy, the only stuff I finish are my Physiogel AI moisturizers. It takes so long for me to finish a bottle of shampoo because I buy even if I already have some open!

I have not ever finished a single piece of makeup. I will be very thrilled if I do! (note: I used if, not when, because I'm so lazy I do not know if that's even possible!)

Oh I love Artdeco too! Nice post, Liz.

I just finished a big bottle of the pink Shu Uemura cleansing oil after a year, my MAC Blot powder and VMV's skintangible :D I'm about to finish the Wonder Pore toner too. Hurray for using up products and not wasting money haha

March 16, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDenise

All my skincare products always hit the pan (mostly Physiogel and VMV products). And I hate wasting things so I make sure I use what I buy. I'm stingy eh. :p

wow, super interesting items, I wanted to try the art deco , im wondering if its good with oily skin?

March 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterOhms

I always empty my clinique moisture surge. I have a love-hate relationship with it, love that it totally works and my face just drinks it up, hate that its so expensive! :) Im thinking of getting the Kiehls ultimate moisturizer, any of you tried both to compare it?
