My new HG face sunscreen: Bioré Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50 PA++++

You can't possibly miss Bioré if you've been to a beauty drugstore chain in Japan. It's prominently featured among the dizzying selection of skincare and tools probably right when you enter. It's that popular! I actually bought the Bioré Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50 PA++++ (P420) the first time I went to Tokyo two years ago. Alas, I did not use it for some stupid reason, which I now regret, because THIS STUFF IS SO AWESOME. It's now my Holy Grail sunscreen for my face!

Bioré is recently back again in the Philippines and distributed by Vibelle Corporation, the same distributor of Jergens and Caronia. It's already available in most drugstores like Watsons and PCX. This makes me so happy, because not only is the Aqua Rich so affordable, it's also easily available! No need to go to Japan, Hong Kong, or Singapore. I even saw the brand in the Watsons in SM Aura which is nearest to me.

Now, I just started using this sunscreen about three weeks ago and I am madly, deeply in love with it. It has an ultra-light gel texture, a cooling sensation, and absolutely no white cast. It has a mostly matte, bit of a powdery feel when you touch your face. It has no sunscreen scent. It smells very faintly of alcohol as it's water and alcohol-based.

I did not break out from this sunscreen at all. In fact, I felt my skin started to feel more supple and clear when I started using it! That must be due to the hyaluronic acid, citrus and fruit extracts, and the castor oil in the formula. I love that the SPF is high at 50 with considerable UVA protection as well.

The Bioré Aqua Rich wears well under makeup - an important consideration if you put on quite a bit like I do. It's almost like a primer since it has that powdery, smoothing finish. If you don't wear makeup, this won't make you look like a grease ball. It's so weightless and light in texture that you won't feel it on your skin at all unlike other sunscreens. It also doesn't contribute to my natural oiliness during the day.

My HG sunscreen before this costs over P2,500 so yes I'm very happy that I finally found a drugstore alternative I can stand by forealz. I've tried many, many drugstore sunscreens before and they work okay, but I always came back to my expensive fave. No more! Now there's Bioré!

So yup massive rave. If you have oily to combi skin and want a weightless, cast-less sunscreen, you have to try the Bioré Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50 PA++++. I don't think you'll regret it! If you have dry skin though you might want to go with something more creamy. Bioré has other types of sunscreen available locally so there should be one for different skin types. Just make sure to check it in Watsons, Unimart Greenhills, Rustans Supermarket, Robinsons Supermarket, PCX Personal Collection, and Landmark.

Have I convinced you? I hope I convinced you! It's been a while since I've found an HG to add to my shelf. I will definitely purchase this once I run out!
