The best under eye concealers to try

Eye bags: so easy to grow, so stubborn to erase! A few late nights, crappy sleeping positions, and a dose of stress are all you need to get under eye circles. Some people are luckier, some people are just born with it, but at some point we all have to just deal with it.

I'm fortunate not to have naturally dark eye bags, but they spiral down quickly enough whenever I stay up late playing a video game or watching a K-drama. I've tried a lot of concealers for this particular issue, and here are the best I've found so far! I've separated them based on their coverage.

So how do you choose the best concealer for you? All of these featured concealers are yellow-toned, as I've found that it's the best shade for neutralising darkness in the eye area for Asians. Here are my recos!

Go Sheer if you just need some brightening and de-puffing, not major lightening. These types of concealers are ultra-lightweight and look the most natural - I prefer to use this formula most of the time! I love the Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector (P1,500+) as well as the Clinique Airbrush Concealer (P1,200which I don't have a photo of here). Both are instantly brightening without the heavy feel.

They aren't particularly hydrating, so remember to wear eye cream underneath always!

Go for Medium coverage if you have semi-dark, discolored (purplish or bluish in tone), and puffy circles. I'm currently loving the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (P1,000), which I also use for concealing blemishes, and the Benefit Fake Up Crease-Control Hydrating Concealer (P1,300). The Benefit concealer is particularly nice for hydrating the eyes as it has a balmy yet non-greasy texture.

Use both sparingly to still keep the natural look!

I wouldn't recommend Heavy-coverage eye concealers for everyday wear unless you really, really need them. I'm talking about serious, prominent eye bags that are about three shades (or more) darker than your skin! The trick is to wear your exact skin shade instead of going noticeably lighter, but I would make an exception for the K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer in 02 (P895). This is amazing at brightening the eye area and it will never budge until you remove it.

I'd also recommend the Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer (P1,600) for great coverage + staying power. Both the EL and K-Palette have hard textures, so if you prefer something that's easier to work with, go for the Shiseido Natural Finish Cream Concealer (P1,550). This is my fave out of the three!

So there you have it. I've done a tutorial on concealing eye bags in the past, so please do check that out! Would love to hear your fave dark circle zappers as well!
