My current skincare routine

A lot of people think I just go around using new face skincare products all the time. I don't! Haha. When I find something I love, I stick to it like a barnacle. Occasionally I like something new enough for me to use it regularly, but after a while, for some reason or other, I find myself going back to my core skincare products.

So! Let's start. I've known myself to be combination-oily ever since my teens, but in the past couple of months, I find that my skin gets dry and irritated often. When that happens I take a break from my Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Oily Skin Formula) and just use the ultra-mild Sebamed Face and Body Wash. Then I use a thicker layer of the Clinique Moisture Surge.

Sometimes, when I'm really lazy and dry, I use the Shu Uemura High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil as an all-in-one facial wash and moisturizer. Seriously! After removing my makeup with the same oil, I use another layer and rinse it as a normal (but non-foamy) facial wash. Then I don't use anything afterwards. When I wake up in the morning, my face is kind of oily but glowing. I don't know but I feel that the Shu restores my skin's moisture balance.

When my face is flaky with lots of blackheads, I like to use the ZO Skin Health by Zein Obagi Offects Exfoliating Cleanser. Not everyday though! Just every other day or even every two days until the flakiness stops. It helps clear my face but since it's kind of matapang (potent) it has to be used in moderation.

And of course, here are the products I use after cleansing. I usually only use the Moisture Surge + Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrate at night. During the day, I slather on the Clinique Derma White City Block Anti-Pollution sunblock. I still don't regularly wear eye cream since the Moisture Surge is great for that purpose, but when I'm in the mood for it I massage the Estee Lauder Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator on my eyebags.

Oh I really need to share this. My current shampoo is the Johnson's Baby Shampoo. It helps clear breakouts since it's so mild and doesn't block pores! So when I have pimples or when I feel that my hair is just heavy with product buildup, I use this baby shampoo to clear it all out. It dries my hair though but I just use a conditioner along the length of my hair (avoiding the scalp) when that happens.

I bought this from S&R. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the formula is different! When I bought JBS in SM before, the texture was kinda watery/runny. But the one I got from S&R is somehow thicker and lathers better. Is it just me?

Anyway, that's it for my skincare routine. :D What's yours like?

Oh, it's the other way around for me. I don't stick to a skincare routine! I try different products all the time because I am lucky that I don't have a very sensitive skin. :)

Hi Ms. Liz,

About the JBS, i think the one you purchased from S&R is imported. The ones they sell in local supermarkets like SM or Puregold are probably, well, local too. Hence, the quality of the product. And the one from S&R has different languages pa so maybe it is produced outside the Philippines. Hope this helps.

Keep it up and God bless! :)

Hi Liz! I was wondering where do you buy your Sebamed? I use Sebamed bar as prescribed by my derm and I only get to buy it from her which is a pain because her clinic's far away from my place. Thanks!
