Staff Picks: Long-wearing makeup for hot busy days

Have you ever left home in the morning with your makeup looking all cute and on fleek, only to find that it has turned a blotchy mess even before lunch time? Yup, we’ve all been there. We swatch a product at the store, fall in love, and buy it, only to find out that it doesn’t perform well when put worn for an extended period. The funny thing is, the formula may actually be able to endure sweat and oil, but gets worn off when rubbed against your hands and clothes. They might even come off when you pat on some oil control film!

Great long-wearing makeup is hard to find. So when you do find something that works and sticks like a charm, it’s only right to share the rave with your girlfriends. These are the best transfer-free makeup that we’ve ever tried!

Liz: I have a ton of faves I've written about in the past, but recently I am loving the Maybelline Super BB Cream. I wear this to tennis since it has SPF, really, really good coverage, and the staying power that can survive the sweat.

Marielle: Happy Skin Don't Get Mad Get Even Liquid Foundation's performance surprised me on a sweltering day. I get seriously sweaty in hot weather, but it didn't stick to my handkerchief or facial tissues I dabbed my face with. I sincerely pray they expand their color range, because the formula's a keeper. Another favorite is Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner; it stays on from day to night!

Nikki: One of the beauty products I have tried and fallen in love with is the Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant mascara. I'm extremely oily and tend to tear up when it gets late, but this mascara stays on and doesn't give me panda eyes even when I rub my peepers!

Den: Smoky eye looks are fun, except when they're not deliberate. I met someone once whose eyeliner had affixed itself on the center of her lid, and I wanted so much to recommend Happy Skin's Eye Am Here To Stay 24-H Gel Pencils to her. They're easy to apply and stay exactly where you want them to, even if you get oily or sweaty.

Stacie: I tried to find a transfer-free lippie but I haven't been successful, so I'll talk about Heroine Make's Volume and Curl Mascara again. It’s the best mascara on earth as it doesn’t budge at all, to the point that it's really hard to remove.

Kathleen: I have not found any makeup yet that is truly transfer-free, but liquid lipsticks that dry down completely are generally transfer-proof. A favorite that comes to mind is actually a matte lip crayon - NARS Velvet Matte in Red Square! I wowed my sister with this product because she could see how well it was holding up while I was eating a slightly oily meal. The transfer is very minimal, and the color is a heart-stopping red-orange. So much win!

And that is that. ^_^ What do wear when you need your makeup to stay on point the whole day?
