This bride-worthy nail polish line is so pretty, you'd wear it beyond your wedding day

You’ve said “yes” to the dress, blinged out your shoes, scheduled your facials, and decided on whether to book a makeup artist or do your own makeup for the big day. A must-add to your wedding prep list: get your nails did! Aside from being a great way to relax from all the stress of wedding planning (and I KNOW that there are many!), your digits are actually going to be photographed to show off your new bling so you want to make sure that they look every inch as polished as the rest of you!

Getting manis and pedis is perfect for primping with your bridal party, whether with the full bells and whistles at a nail spa, or at a girls’ night in. It’s wholesome and enjoyable for all, and you can use TenTen Nail Colors that are completely safe for everyone, too. The Thai brand offers a quick dry, 5-free formulation that’s safe for use even by pregnant women and kids! Their polishes are free from Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phtalate, Toulene, Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor.

I was instantly smitten by the color selection for their new Bella Donna collection because even though it has a bridal theme, the shades look just as lovely for everyday use! There are five romantic shades to choose from: Wedding Dress, Champagne, Bridesmaid, Flower Girl, and Platinum (P120 each).

Base Coat

Before putting on the polishes, I made sure to prep my nails with the TenTen Base Coat B89 (P120). It didn’t really feel any different from the clear nail polishes I’ve tried before except for the fact that it felt a wee bit thicker and actually protective of my nail. This was important because I had just almost chopped off part of my nail while working in the kitchen, and it felt like the base coat kind of cemented it back in place. I was also surprised that it was pretty shiny because the cloudy color makes it look matte.I liked how this made my nail surface smoother and easier for color application.

Wedding Dress in (from top): three coats, two coats, one coat

The lightest shade in the collection is called Wedding Dress because of its frothy white color and little white microshimmers. The hint of yellow gives it warmth, and makes the somewhat odd color more wearable. I really like the shade but the sheer formula itself can apply streaky if you’re not careful. It’s best to apply in a single stroke to ensure a uniform wash of color and maintain some of its translucent finish.

Champagne in (from top): three coats, two coats, one coat

If you love nude nails, Champagne is perfect for you! It’s a milky beige shade, which will suit a classic bride. The formula is also sheer but buildable, though you can still see the tips of my nails even with three coats. I like how it looks from layer to layer. You can also paint a strip of Wedding Dress or white nail polish on the tips to cop a French manicure.

Bridesmaid in (from top): three coats, two coats, one coat

The runaway favorite of this collection is Bridesmaid, an opaque pale pink shade that looks more modern than Champagne. It’s a bit bright but looks flattering on both light-skinned gals and morenas. I find that this formula was also the easiest to apply since you can get a pretty opaque application even with just a single coat.

Flower Girl in (from top): three coats, two coats, one coat

Little girls can also get in on the pre-wedding fun with the aptly named Flower Girl, a sweet bubble gum pink. The formula is also sheer, so a single coat looks pretty much like my natural nail color but shinier. When it gets to three layers though, I find the pop of pink a bit too bright and distracting to wear for one’s wedding. It also looked a bit neon when worn against morena skin.

Platinum in (from top): three coats, two coats, one coat

The whole point of a wedding really is to celebrate the love between two people, and Platinum makes sure that your tips are party-ready! This metallic shade contains microshimmers that dazzle when light hits them, and creates a look of opulence. I find that this looks best when worn on short, square-shaped nails as it keeps the manicure from looking too dramatic and over the top.

I’m not going to lie: doing nail polish swatches for this story was challenging but the TenTen Nail Polish Remover (P180 for 85ml) made it a lot easier. It takes off polish easily, doesn’t dry my skin or cuticles, doesn’t leave a white residue, and most importantly, doesn’t smell bad! It’s actually bubblegum-scented, which is lot more preferable than the usual chemical smell. It’s an acetone-free formula, too! Finally, I sealed and protected the colors with the TenTen Top Coat (P120), which added even more shine.

You can find TenTen Nail Colors in select salons but I would definitely recommend getting your own bottle. I accidentally chipped my own manicure on the eve of my wedding, but I was easily able to fix it because I brought my own bottle of polish. Besides, these shades are just so gorgeous, I’d happily wear them over and over again. And at just P120 a bottle, I’m actually really tempted to collect more colors!

TenTen Nail Colors are available online from Nippon Esthetic and BeautyMNL.
