Student budget picks for the perfect polbo and lip tint look

We've all had days when we just can’t do a full makeup look. Maybe we're in a rush, too busy, or just prefer to squeeze in a few extra minutes of sleep instead - and that's totally okay. It's still nice to look more polished though, so one super quick and easy way to do it is with polbo and lip tint

Liz's live video demo of the look took less than 14 minutes, and that includes pauses to answer some viewer questions! It's amazing how something so simple can instantly level up your look, and you needn't spend on expensive products either.

In the live video, Liz used The Face Shop My Lips Eat Cherry in Juicy Red #2 (P225 at The Face Shop). It is also one of my personal favorites because of how the color looks on my skin and how the tint lasts on my skin and lips the whole day. It would stain my cheek and stay there for about 7 hours, while it lasts around 4 hours on my lips. It is also lightweight, so you don't feel conscious of even having a lip product on!

For a sheerer look, I like the Pony Effect Favorite Lip Tint in Sheer Delight (P613.32 at YesStyle.com). It first applies like a gloss, then fades into a stain later on. I love the gold packaging, and I think it has the best scent on the list. It’s also comfortable to wear but you’ll have to reapply often because it does not last very long. Its lifespan is only around 2 to 3 hours on my lips and cheeks.

The Ellana Lip & Cheek Gel in Ruby (P399 at Ellana.com) is a locally-made tint from one of our fave local brands. The red-orange shade brightens up my face instantly, and fits into the trendy Korean look. It lasts for about 4 hours on the cheek, and about 2 hours on the lips. The pigmentation isn't very apparent on my lips but I love how it looks on my cheeks!

Another lip tint from a local brand is the KJM All-Natural Cosmetics Lip Tint in Bittersweet Magenta (P110 at KJMCosmetics.com). This particular shade gives me a really lovely natural flush but there are also many color options to choose from. The lip stain lasts for about 3 hours, and the cheek stain lasts for around 8 hours on me. As pocket-friendly as the price already is, take care when purchasing because there are many fake versions in the market. Stay safe by making sure you only buy from their official online store or accredited resellers.

The SAEM is finally opening its first store in SM Aura on June 15, and if you're not sure about what to get, try the Jelly Candy Tint in CandyflossIt has a sweet candy scent, a sticky consistency, and a really intense pigment! The cheek stain lasts for about 6 hours, while the lip stain lasts for around 4 hours. The bright pink hue of this shade also helps to channel that youthful look.

We know that there are so many more tints we haven’t reviewed! We hope to review more in the future, but until then you can check out our lip and cheek tint recommendations here. In the meantime, here are some powders that would help you achieve the polbo and lip tint look!

The Ellana Loose Mineral Foundation in Cafe Mocha (P499 for a refill at Ellanacosmetics.com) is my go-to powder foundation every day, from formal events to casual weekends. It is such a reliable powder because it keeps my skin looking fresh and somewhat matte for 4-6 hours. It melts nicely throughout the warm days and concealed dark spots without emphasizing imperfections that much.

Another powder that I love is the L’Oreal Mat Magique All-in-One Powder in Golden Ivory (P499 at SM Beauty). It’s a light powder that can be layered for more coverage and gives me that matte look for about 4 hours. For more powder recommendations, you can check this article as well.
