Avon Skin So Soft Fast Hydration Body Gel Lotion in Watermint

How was your long weekend? Mine was very quiet as I just stayed at home painting and working. ^_^ Anyway, this week I thought I'd do Skincare Week, where I will be talking about excellent products you can use to nourish and protect your skin. We all need a few of those! Hopefully this week you can discover awesome additions to your current skincare routine.

To start off, I have a unique find for you: the Avon Skin So Soft Fast Hydration Body Gel Lotion (P330). I've tried quite a host of body lotions but it's my first time to see a legit gel one! I mean, gel face moisturizers are easy to find, but it's rare to see one for the body in the PH. That's why I was pretty excited to hear about this latest innovation from Avon!

So what's up with this gel moisturizer? It literally feels like you're applying water on your skin - it's light, quickly absorbed within seconds, and leaves no greasy residue. It smells very fresh and clean and has this cooling effect due to the alcohol content.

At first I thought that having SD Alcohol-40B in the ingredients list is counterintuitive as alcohol is known to be drying. However, according to FutureDerm, this type of alchol is welcme in skincare when it's binded with other ingredients (such as glycerin which is a humectant). It decreases viscosity in products and allows ingredients to penetrate the skin better. 

Even though this product is predominantly water and alcohol, it won't sting cuts or small wounds. Yes, I plopped it right on top of a wound on my finger and it didn't sting at all.

I love this stuff! Quite frankly it's not as moisturizing as your usual cream lotion, but it works well enough for us who regularly deal with hot and humid weather. We sweat and oil up not just on our faces, you know! I'd definitely choose a cooling and calming lightweight moisturizer on a hot summer day over any of my fave moisturizers. It's sooo light, you can re-apply this Avon Body Gel Lotion anytime and feel refreshed immediately.

Well, I do wish it has SPF! That'd be the most awesome thing, should it come to pass.

Overall, I highly recommend the Avon Skin So Soft Fast Hydration Body Gel Lotion in Watermint if you're looking for the lightest lotion EVER to touch your skin. You can re-apply this lotion whenever you feel like you need a boost of hydration and it'll never feel icky! You'll still need to wear SPF when you leave the house, of course. 

Try this if you've always wished for a lotion that will never feel sticky even if you sweat. It's utterly comfortable and lovely to use. ;) Great job, Avon! I'm definitely hoarding once my supplies run out!
