Rave: L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow

I wish I planned my purchases while I was in Hong Kong. If I spared a thought on what I needed versus what looked interesting at that time, I would have grabbed all the available shades of the L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow! No dice about it - this is an awesome creamy eyeshadow that is worth. Every. Single Cent.

Thankfully, Bon Marche Page sells this locally for only P280. It's about the same price in HK!

So what makes these eyeshadows awesome? Wow, let me count the ways! They are intensely pigmented, they're smooth and creamy, a dream to blend, and they stay on ALL day with barely any creasing - WITHOUT the use of primer. Yes I need to capitalize those words. These L'Oreal Infalliable pots are everthing bold eyeshadow should be.

And they're cheap.

These look and feel like cream eyeshadows but they are technically packed powder pigments with a bit of binder thrown in. You can use your fingers for a quick swipe of color but if you want a more refined finish, these shadows work perfectly well with both animal or synthetic brushes.

Did I say you won't need to use primer anymore? Just apply the color on your bare lids and it will look solid in one layer while sticking through sweat and oil. I wore mine while I was in Japan - it was the height summer during my visit (31 degrees celsuis!), and I was out all day walking and exploring. By the end of it, the Infallible looked pretty decent all things considered, with only a hint of creasing near the inner corners of my eyes.

My lids are smooth so the shadow looks smooth, but if you have severely wrinkled lids then you might want to use a primer/filler before applying these particular shades. (Tip: matte eyeshadows work best in smoothing out mature eyes!)

Amber Rush is a bronzy amber color. It's a great everyday shade that'll brighten up your eyes, although it is quite metallic. Just make sure to use matte makeup on most of your face to even out the shine on your lids.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of me wearing Amber Rush! Ugh! That's so weird considering I wear it fairly often since it's so convenient. I'll post an FOTD when I do.

Amber Rush and Liquid Diamond

Liquid Diamond is a silvery lavender shade. It's quite cool, but it works well enough on my warm medium skin tone.

Liquid Diamond as worn on the lids. I used a color from Stila on the crease, but IMHO, the MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow is a perfect pairing for Liquid Diamond. I wore that the other day and I love how it turned out.

The packaging looks solid enough but you just have to be careful when handling this product. It'll crumble easily if you happen to drop it (I've seen the pics online), but no problem. You can pack it in again easily.

Overall, the L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow is ah-mazing. I have run out of hyperboles. Just trust me on this one! Newbies and pros alike will enjoy using this formula. You should try to get shades that are less shimmery/metallic for everyday use, buuuut you can always tone it down with a matte crease color, blush and/or lipstick for a more work-appropriate look.

This product is not available in the Philippines currently, but I am fervently wishing that our local L'Oreal counters would carry them soon. I got these from Bon March Page - the store has more shades on hand!

Sooo...did I convince you? Haha. I want to get more colors in the near future.
