Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Runway Coral

What a dark and dreary Monday it is. It's not the best way to start the week, but there are lots of ways to cheer ourselves up! Mine involves a hot bowl of arroz caldo, a botched attempt at a home made doggie raincoat, and now, a happy lipstick review. What's yours?

Anyhoo, on to the lipstick! The Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Runway Coral (P1,100) is my current favorite lipstick. It's been ages since I've worn an actual Clinique lipstick (the Chubby Stick doesn't count) that I've forgotten how nice the brand makes them. I've said this again and again - Clinique is famous for skincare products, but its makeup is surprisingly good. Especially of late, it's like the Clinique makeup department is on crack.

There are lots of nice lipsticks out there, but I there are only a few that come in beautiful packaging and an amazing formula. The Clinique Long Last Lipstick has both. The burnished silver bullet has some heft to it and a gliding closure with no click. I love it! The tactile feel alone can excite any girl who cherishes beautiful objects.

The formula itself is also very good. It's smooth and cushy and light on the lips, but it stays put for five hours if you don't eat. It stains the lips evenly for up to eight hours even after you eat/drink. Through all that, there is no flaking or uncomfortable dryness that are typical of long-wearing lipsticks.

I can survive all day without lip balm since I have normal lips that are rarely prone to drying up. However, if you have dry lips, you should wear lip balm a few hours after (not before) the initial application of the lipstick. It shouldn't affect the staining power of this particular formula.

Runway Coral is not quite pink, not quite red, yet not exactly coral. It's an uncommon shade in my opinion. And that's why I love it! It works perfectly on my warm skintone. It's bright but not neon - elegant and fun at the same time.

Finish is satin, although it turns matte after a few hours once the oil in the formula start to evaporate. Still lovely though!

I highly recommend the Clinique Long Last Lipstick to anyone who loves a creamy, long-wearing lip color in gotta-preserve-it packaging. There are lots of gorgeous shades available, although the famous one is Bamboo Pink. It looks like a nice MLBB shade.

I do love Runway Coral - try it if you're into gorgeous bright shades! I don't have anything quite like it, but the NARS Lodhi is in the same color class.

So there you go. Thoughts? Oh and I hope you're safe wherever you are! ^_^
