Project Vanity: Five Years of Vanity Event

A lot of readers have requested me to do a meet and greet in the past, and I want to do one too because - what else - I want to meet you! Some of you guys have been reading this blog since the beginning, and you can't believe how much I'm choking up just thinking about that. It's been five years of vanity, of learning, and sharing how we could be better women both inside and out. Half a decade, huh? I want to do something special to celebrate that with you guys.

I've been thinking how to do this for quite a while, and I finally figured it out. What if I did it in one of my favorite places in the world, with some of my favorite beauty brands? And that's when my brain went ding ding ding! Haha. Presenting, the Project Vanity: Five Years of Vanity Event!

It will be held at Beauty Bar Bonifacio High Street (on top of Muji) on March 9, 2-4pm and will be co-sponsored by K-Palette, Fairydrops, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and of course Beauty Bar. It will be a fun afternoon of mingling with other beauty enthusiasts, coffee, and freebies! I will be doing a demonstration showing a quick but high-impact everyday look, and of course I'll be doing a Q&A on all your beauty concerns. It's like Ask Liz! live and on crack. ;)

All guests will get free drinks from the CBTL right inside Beauty Bar. I bet you didn't know there was even one there! It's my favorite spot for meetings and quiet conversations with friends (am I gonna regret revealing that?!). Anyway, the CBTL there creates drinks using their Single Serve Beverage System. It's a home coffee system that makes a perfect cup of tea, coffee, or espresso. Cool huh? Check it out whenever you visit a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. ;)

Of course, I won't let you go home empty-handed. Everyone on the guest list will have a loot bag from Beauty Bar aside from the prizes we'll be giving away that day. So yes it's going to be ahh-mazing!

I want to put everyone on the guest list but we have loot bags for only 40 people. Hence, I'm going to have an easy contest for those who want to be on the list. Here are the mechanics!

1. Like Fairydrops and K-Palette on Facebook.

2. Like Beauty Bar on Facebook.

3. Like Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf on Facebook.

4. Answer this question in the comments below: What's your favorite post on Project Vanity and why? Please include your Facebook name, email address, and mobile number.

Please send your entries in by March 5. I will be choosing 40 names for the event, and they will each receive a loot bag and CBTL drink. If you don't win but still want to come, you are still very much welcome! It's an open event! :)

So there you go. Whew. I'm so excited for this one! Out of all my events this March, Five Years of Vanity is the one I am most excited about. I can't wait to meet you!

PS Loot bags can only be claimed at the event itself. If you win and suddenly can't make it, please let me know two days beforehand.

It's the one post that really connected to me. I'm can relate to that to what's happening to me right now! Good luck to everyone joining!

What's your favorite post on Project Vanity and why?

My favorite post, if not the makeup tips, would be your most recent post prior this -- "It keeps me up but it keeps me going". As I've commented back there, I'm really new to blogging and have been using it as an outlet (not for ranting). I am honestly inspired to see beauty bloggers like you working hard (5 years!!!) on their blogs. I know that it's not as simple as just taking pictures and writing about them as soon as it's posted online. It makes me have a lot of respect than I already have for those who can write so well and detailed about products they've tried out, whether it be for beauty or otherwise, and be really honest about it. Sometimes, free stuff make people go crazy but bloggers like you stay honest about whether a product works or not. To see people like this make me really inspired to go on continue what I love doing, too! I do hope that someday you can make makeup video tutorials, too? :D

Congratulations on your 5th year. And thank you! Please continue sharing more beauty tips in the future, they are much appreciated. :)

I love your FOTD posts which I also copy sometimes when I go out. Haha! It gives me ideas on what makeup look to sport for the day. I also love reading your beauty reviews, especially if it's a product worth trying out. I get completely convinced to save up and buy it so I could try it out myself! :P

Congratulations Liz! I don't dislike any of your posts, I like them all. They are very helpful. My top 3 are your answer on adding up SPFs, the article about brush guards and the post on your foundation collection.

I don't know if I could be present at your event due to my "erractic" schedule but I'm excited for you nonetheless. Congratulations once again and I wish you sustained success and an ever growing pool of readers.

I really love your posts about makeup product reviews in general. As an aspiring makeup artist, research on the latest and most effective products out there would help me a lot not only in saving my money from buying products that don't even perform but also in widening my knowledge on makeup use. Thank you for this rare opportunity. ^^ More power! :)

So excited for you! Five years, wow. That has to be my most loved building in BHS because if the combination of Muji + Beauty Bar + CBTL.

My favorite post would have to be the one on applying eyeliner (http://www.projectvanity.com/projectvanity/2012/1/26/how-to-apply-eyeliner-like-a-boss-plus-a-stub-on-drawing-a-m.html), for nostalgic reasons -- (1) it was my introduction to the world of beauty blogging, (2) it was the first of many posts on your blog that I bookmarked, and (3) it's the post that made me stalk your RSS feed! It's probably a minor entry for you but I'll always remember it as my gateway drug into makeup. :p

What's your favorite post on Project Vanity and why?
I love reading the witty reviews, detailed tutorials, and chic FOTDs, but my absolute favorite post in Project Vanity has got to be "Advice from a 25 year old." It's hard not to love it! It's very insightful and inspiring, but most of all it hit me right between the eyes. I'm turning 25 myself this year, you see, and I've recently started branching out to another career path (makeup artistry) so different from my corporate job. Although I absolutely love doing this new thing, I started to have doubts on whether I was good enough to make it in this industry. Plus, I was noticing that there are a LOT of freelance makeup artists now. I started to wonder if I could keep going and I got too conscious of what other people thought. Reading this blog post didn't just inspire me to not slack off in life because you've achieved so much at such a young age. It also encouraged me to keep fighting to be better at what I do because I LOVE doing it. To believe in myself and not be so nega that I'll preempt my own failure. hehe Because of blog posts like this, Project Vanity is like a dear friend to me who gives valuable advice. This is why I keep coming back to check on what's new on this site. :) God bless and more power to you, Liz, and to Project Vanity!

Each post from Project Vanity's blog is my favorite. I love how very post help me learn about a certain product and what are the best makeup to use next. And as a blogger newbie, I learned a LOT by reading this blog. It would be such a great pleasure to have an actual conversation with you also to ask many questions on anything beauty-related.

I know that Project Vanity wouldn't reached this far if it wasn't for your very informative and helpful blog post. Once again, Congratulation!

Wah! Congrats on the 5th year, Liz! I hope you have many more blogging years to come! :)

Anyway, to join in on the contest, heehee, I don't have a specific post that I like in Project Vanity because I find almost all the information helpful and interesting to read. But the series of posts I love the most are the Ask Liz! and Reader Question types because it gives the blog a sense of real-ness, that it's not just blogger-reader distance relationship but like a couple of girl friends talking and sharing each other's beauty secrets. :)

I've been reading your blog for some time now, which is quite surprising for me as I didn't realize it's been five freaking years since your blog started. Through all the revlon, avon, paul & joe, clinique meetups.. even the F21 launch! It's freaky because I even remember your first PV site... And lo and behold, 5 years later, I'm still a silent reader. Sorry. :P

I had to search for it, but the first post that hit my favorite list was this: http://www.projectvanity.com/projectvanity/2010/6/9/makeup-on-a-budget-get-the-best-for-under-p5000.html

I was planning on creating my own makeup set back then and your post was very timely. Later on you launched another for a budget of 2k, but this had me interested first (and got me hooked with in2it!).

I'm really not much of an extrovert, so I am more of the silent follower. However, since it has been five years, I think it's time I get out of this house and attend one of your meetups, at least. :) It would be a great opportunity to know your craft.

Five years. Goodness. Congratulations and keep it up!

My favourite post was " What I will wear at the end of the world". It was a exquisite blog, simply because, when I read it , I was also imagining my own apocalypse and what I will carrying with me. The red lipstick idea is brilliant, sure won't kill to be still carrying makeup although almost everyone is dead. Red lipstick always gives you that bam. I love several blog post you had. But I like most that are a bit sentimental, such a talking about body size, virginity and other stuff. I read your blog as much as I can to de-stress my life from my everyday humdrum. Congratulations on your 5th Anniversary!..I hope I get chosen!

Wow Liz, congratulations and more blogging years to come! :) Your blog has truly been an inspiration, seriously, PV is like wikipedia for all things beauty in the Philippines :)

Since there can only be 1 favorite post, that would be the How to Shape Your eyebrows (http://www.projectvanity.com/projectvanity/2010/1/4/how-to-shape-your-eyebrows.html) I've learned how to shape and shade my brows through that post and i was stunned the first time I tried it because I really saw how a simple brow makeup can transform the face. It became an obsession since then! :)

I can't believe I'll be out of town on that day! :( It breaks my heart. I know I haven't been a reader as long as the others but I really love you and your blog! Comgratulations for 5 years of inspiring others. I just know this event will be a huge success. Goodluck! I hope you hold one every year so that I'll have a chance next year! :(

Congratulations! I like the tutorials because I'm a beginner with makeup and I'm learning a lot from your posts. One of my favorites is this one: http://www.projectvanity.com/projectvanity/2013/2/1/tutorial-graduation-makeup.html. Because you use most of the stuff that is not that expensive.

First, I want to congratulate you. Yaaaay! I told you it's too hard to choose just one post because really, almost all your posts are really helpful. I really listen and take into consideration every review you post. So I guess my favorite are the product reviews. I love how you do it and your honesty. I trust and believe what you say. I really do.

Hi Liz! I have been like a fan (more of a lurker) for the longest time. I can't believe that it's been 5 years since Project Vanity started. I still remember the good old i.ph days. ;) Sometimes when I miss an update (like when I'm busy with work and real life) I backtrack till I reach the posts that I last read. You have several posts which really caught my eye; which would mean I bookmarked for future purposes.

1. Tutorial: How to make bottom lashes look naturally thicker - Being chinita, it means I have sparse eyelashes not to mention eyebrows. I love how you showed every step on how to make bottom lashes fuller. :)
2. My top five BB creams - I live for BB creams; especially on days when I'm needed in the office ASAP.
3. Graduation Makeup Tutorial - Your original one which was posted back in 2010 (March?) was one of the best grad make up tutorials that I have seen back then. I also liked the updated version
4. My most favorite article that you have made is the Tutorial: Bea Alonzo's "The Mistress" makeup. Flawless, pretty and drop dead amazing.

I want to write more but I feel top 4 should be enough ^^,
