My top three eyebrow products
Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 3:51PM I love various eyebrow enhancers but there are only three that I have been consistently using since I opened them. These are the most reliable ones - the ones that match any look I throw at them, that receive the most compliments. They're also foolproof when it comes to application. Even if my eyebrows look like a hairy hot mess, these three eyebrow heroes make them look neat and polished! All day.
Here goes!

I raved about the Shu Uemura Hard Formula brow pencil in 09 Walnut Brown last July 2011. Wow, it's been that long? I knew this pencil was a keeper but I didn't know it was going to be so literal. I shit you not I'm not even halfway through this one, after a year and a half of continuous abuse. :P I'm glad I shelled out the P1,400 even though it's the most expensive pencil I've come across so far.

I love how soft and natural this pencil looks when applied. It's nice to wear when I want to look "mabait", if you know what I mean!
The Review and tutorial: the K-Palette Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow is another long-standing favorite. There's much to love about it, but its best feature for me is the precision of the brush. Imagine brows ungroomed and wild for weeks. Imagine a pen that can make them look shaped instantly. That's what the Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow does!

While the Shu Uemura pencil is great for everyday whats-its this K-Palette pen is perfect for shoots and events. It can define brows however you prefer them, but it never appears too thick or unnatural.
Ahhh, and this is my preferred finishing touch. The Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist in BR555 just slightly lightens my brows and keeps them in place all day. It's waterproof, so no sweat can make it budge from the eyebrow hair. I love the tiny brush as it makes application easier and more precise.

I don't use this alone since it's still reddish for me, but it's ideal on top of some darker pencil/pen just to keep the hair in one direction.
So there you go! What brow product/s shall you take to your grave?

I love your look in the last photo. You look vavavoom! :)
I love love love groomed brows. My best bets are the Tony Moly eyebrow pencil and The Face Shop eyebrow powder duo, with the latter being my go-to for every occasion.
my eyebrows are really sparse. They're nearly invisible! I would really add one of these on my wishlist. It's good to know that liquid eyebrow makeup looks more natural and easier to use than my eyebrow wax and powder kit. :)
@nikki: Mine too Nikki! barely visible! I just can't go out in the house without my brows filled in. I feel like naked! haha =)
Thanks for this post, MS. Liz. I was actually looking for some eyebrow products especially eyebrow gel. Currently, the products that I got are an eyebrow pencil for EB, eyebrow powder from in2it and palladio, and eyebrow gel from ELF. I bought the elf eb gel online and I was really excited to try it. Unluckily, I was so disappointed with the result. The scent is intolerable, the color is not so fine, and it has tiny gold dust which isn't should be in eyebrow gels. boy, who does want to have a shimmery eyebrow here? Anyone?
I also want to try the Eyebrow gel from James Cooper, which is, as I read from some reviews, comparable to MAC brow set.
I'm having plans to buy soon but I don't know which to buy. Can you suggest from these three Ms. Liz? (Etude House Color my brows, Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist or JC Eyebrow gel) It would be a great help. Thanks in advance!
If you didn't say anything about the Shu Uemura brow pencil, I wouldn't even have guessed that you were wearing it! It looks so natural on you. Definitely a good buy!
@Desire: I have tried EH color my brows, Majolica Majo and JC eyebrow gel. I liked Majo's best. It has good color payoff, lasts longand applicator's fine. The EH one dries up fast but also is also good and cheaper. The JC one has weird applicator and has some shimmer to it (I got the frosted brown btw) that is slightly noticeable. I say go for the first two bec they're hits.
Ms. Liz i just wanted to say that last picture is the prettiest I've seen among your post. Is this the one with the Revlon Just Bitten kissable Balm Stain in your lips?
You said the Majo was still a bit reddish for you, what did you use underneath it in the last photo? because the combination with the majo was great
@Manilajen, thanks for the input , I was weighing also between the EH and the Majo.
I have the K-Palette and I'm loving it to bits! definitely worth the price! But I wanna try the Majolica Majorca Lash colorist too since I have dark brows. Love your last photo Miss Liz! :)
I love the Shu Uemura Hard Formula Pencil 09. I got mine from Tao Yuan airport for less than P1K. It looks so natural. Benefit's Brow Zings is good too when I want darker eyebrows.
Gaaah, the k-palette's effect is so nice and I love the majolica majorca, makes your eyebrows look artistahin. Currently I'm using the etude color my brows, it's actually great if you're on a budget.
First off, I wear glasses, so eyebrows are crucial. I always use powder for my brows so I don't know how to use pencils. I was thinking of buying the K-palette but the Shu brow pencil seems perfect for me. Oh no! I don't know which to pick.
Whenever I don't have time to put on make-up in the morning, I just color my brows with the Etude House Browcara (darker shade). It's perfect for my hair color and it's so fast and easy to put on. Though it doesn't give a defined shape alone. I wanted the Majo Majo one, but I can't use it alone.
I think the shimmer in brow gels is for a "3D effect" on the brows. Cause if you use matte, the brows look flat. But of course, when they over do shimmer, it never looks okay.
I love K-Palette's Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow! It's so easy and quick to use! To top it off, it really defines my eyebrows! I feel like I'm an artista whenever I use it. ;) Definitely worth the price!
When I first saw the title of this post, I couldn't wait enough for the page to load! But after this post, I'm kinda disappointed 'coz all of your picks are too "high-end" (and I mean that from a lowly college student with a meager allowance) for me.
I'm absolutely obsessed with my eyebrows and can never go out without taming them. Have you ever tried on any good relatively affordable eyebrow products?
Love your eye make up on the last picture Ms. Liz! And your brows look great! Do you groom them yourself? That shu uemura pencil is expensive! I wonder, are there any drugstore brand brow pencil you can recommend that comes close to the quality of shu's? I bought nyx brow powder duo online last year and they are ok but I think I got the wrong shade. I've read different opinions about choosing the shade of a brow pen/powder, some say go lighter while some say to get the same shade as your brow color.
I love how you do your brows! I wish I was as talented. Anyway, I would like to share to everyone that's on a budget my HG of eyebrow pencils. It's the Eude House My Drawing Eyebrows in the shade grey brown, #2. It's the perfect shade of brown for us Pinays. It's not too harsh. I could never go wrong with it!
Vvavoom ka sa last pic! Those must be some serious stuff for you to say i shit you not instead of i kid you not lol, di ko na matandaan kung dito ko ba nabasa na from your old post na you'll try to curse less , hehehe nakooo mapappabili yaata ako
I've been hearing raves about K-Palette's Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow! I think I should get one and try it out for myself! :)
You look stunning on the last pic Ms. Liz! Also, will brown eyebrow look good on a morena skin? It does sure looks good if you have a white complexion!
I super love your last photo. You looked so stunningly beautiful there! Your whole makeup is well made and simple, yet breathtaking. (sip sip much? LOL!) But promise, it's one of your best looks. :) Did you make a tutorial on that look?
I've always used powder to fill in my brows but I think it's time to try a pencil one. The shu uemura looks really great on you! :)
whoa. i like the outcome of majolica's on you! I was never really into eyebrow pencil as I prefer using my in2it brow powder parin, but hey i think i need to try atleast one of these

I was sold na on the Shu pencil kaso sa Shu counters pa ipapasharpen... Meh... I dont live in the Metro na e :(( like @zinfadel, I use EH's my drawing brows most of the time, it's hard to go wrong with it din. But I just made a serious mistake in plucking my eyebrows and I think I need the K Palette eyebrow tattoo na... Grabe talaga ang brow fever ngayon!
One of the things I've always admired about you is your eyebrows! You do them juuuuust right and eyebrows is pretty much the easiest thing to mess up on the face. people underestimate what brows can do!
That Shu pencil looks so promising, but so expensive! I think I have a dupe, its from Rimmel London. Also, a question Ms. Liz, is the MM brow colorist better than MAC browset? I'm thinking of getting the browset kasi. Thanks!
