My Browgraphy Experience at Browhaus

I have emphasized time and again that eyebrows may be our most important facial features. These little buggers can make of break our face, so it pays to keep them well-groomed and well-shaped at all times! That said, I have DIYd my eyebrows since college and I'm pretty pleased with the job I've done so far. However, when Browhaus invited me to visit them last week, I thought I'd come over to see if they can do a better job.

The staff recommended that I try Browgraphy (P1,290), which is a package that includes threading, shaping, and dyeing the brows. Since they noticed that I have light, thin, brows, they asked me if I'm okay with having them dyed darker. I'm like, hell yeah! I always shade my brows, so I'm grateful for any time I can take off from the task.

My unruly brows. They look okay here but up close there's hair everywhere!

Now if you have thicker, darker brows, they would recommend coloring them lighter. It's really on a case to case basis, much like going to a hair or nail salon.

Alright then, allow me to walk you through the process!

First off, the attendant will thread your brows. You'll notice I'm not wearing any eye makeup. Guess why! Threading ALWAYS makes my eyes water uncontrollably. As in, I weep buckets of tears! So I thought I'd come prepared and keep my eyes devoid of makeup. Surprise surprise, the threading was quick, pain-free, and tear free! Do you know how much this means to a person who tears up super easily? A lot.

I was also expecting a bit of redness around the threaded skin, but there wasn't any. Well, I'm not prone to redness anyway, but I appreciate that there weren't any marks. The explanation for this is simple: Browhaus uses only 100% cotton thread, and they have a special technique and movement while threading the brows. It's like they're dancing a little, truth be told.

After the threading session, the attendant proceeded to drying my brows. The dye is organic, safe, and formulated just for the sensitive eye area. True enough, I didn't feel any sting. The brow artist used a pencil point brush and just painted over my brows. She asked me to stay put for ten minutes while the dye absorbs.

What it looks like before the dye is cleaned away

The Browgraphy session only lasted 30 minutes. It was pain-free and pleasant overall. However, do note that the dye job only lasts for a week. It's been five days and the dye is barely noticeable by now. A brow lightening procedure does last longer, at around a month.

Voila! Perfect brows!

While at the salon, they mentioned that all Browhaus "brow artists" attend a boot camp in Sinagpore just for this sort of thing. That's why it's more expensive to come here - they don't just have excellent customer service, the staff are also all trained professionally. :)

Verdict? Loved the results, the service, and the place. Will definitely come back for the threading!
