Beauty is subjective, but good health is not. It’s important to ask ourselves how we’re being more proactive with our health especially during pandemic times. In my case I’ve been more conscious of eating right, going to the gym, and taking vitamins regularly. I have to confess that I always forget the last one! This is why I particularly love vitamins that can also count as a fun, light snack.

The TRIZIE Bloom Jelly (P995/10 sachets; P1,895/20 sachets) is the latest supplement from the brand. It’s a jelly candy with a mixed berry flavor so I get to satisfy my sweet tooth but at only 10 calories per sachet. Beyond being just a snack, Bloom Jelly contains Premium White Tomato Extract from the US, Rice Extract, Blood Orange Extract, Pine Bark Extract, Vitamin C, Vitamin B3, and Vitamin E.

The Premium White Tomato Extract from the US is full of carotenoids, Vitamin C, and L-Cysteine. Carotenoids, like Lycopene, has a wide range of benefits, from boosting UV protection, being associated with decreasing the risk of different types of cancers to decreasing risks of cardiovascular diseases. Carotenoids in skincare, when ingested, is well-researched as an antioxidant that can prevent photo damage of skin. Talk about sun protection from within!

TRIZIE Bloom Jelly also has Rice Extract which is rich in amino acids, Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid, and other antioxidants that help to calm inflammation, fight free radicals, and boost collagen production to keep skin elastic.

The Blood Orange Extract come from Sweet Oranges and is renowned for protecting the skin from UV damage and inflammation. The Pine Bark Extract on the other hand contains a powerful anti-inflammatory substance called Pycnogenol, which helps to protect the skin from UV rays.

And now, the vitamins! Vitamin C is a powerful multi-tasker that protects skin from environmental damage, brightens an uneven and dull complexion, and boosts hydration and collagen production. Vitamin B3, aka Niacinamide, is a skin-strengthening ingredient that encourages the skin to produce more collagen, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid for a healthy skin barrier. Finally, Vitamin E contains powerful antioxidant properties to fight sun damage, signs of aging, and other environmental stressors.

As for the effect on my skin, I can’t say I’ve noticed a major difference after only just a few weeks, but supplements do take time. They require consistency too. All I can say is that my skin is happy. It’s super sensitive now but it hasn’t broken out recently, which is always a good sign that I’m doing something right.

If you told me even just 10 years ago that there’s jelly candy that helps maintain skin health, I wouldn’t have believed you. But I’m glad of these new developments! I’m a snack monster you see, so I do like hitting two birds with one stone with the TRIZIE Bloom Jelly. It’s sweet but not too sweet and I like having it during little breaks in the day. They recommend two sachets per day!

Let me know if you’ve tried this!

TRIZIE Bloom Jelly (P995/10 sachets; P1,895/20 sachets) will be available online via Lazada, Shopee, BeautyMNL, and BFF Manila starting November 11.
