Glow and Behold: Discovering the Charm of Spotlight’s Rising Star Marble Blush

I think that blush has been a bigger trend in the Philippines than it’s ever been this 2023. Before, when it comes to color cosmetics, Filipinos tend to focus more on lips but with stars like Heart Evangelista and Kathryn Bernardo sporting distinct blush styles, I think that we’ve developed more of an appetite for cheeky trends. Thoughts? Anyway, Spotlight Cosmetics’s Rising Star Marble Blush (P395 / 2.5g) is worth a look for anyone who loves a natural, healthy glow. I had the chance to try out all three shades - Big Night, Red Carpet, and Premiere - and I'm here to share my experience with these lovely blushes.

First off, the texture and formula are impressive. Each blush is infused with Vitamin E, which not only ensures your skin stays moisturized but also makes the application smooth and seamless. This is a big plus for those who have dry or sensitive skin, as it doesn't accentuate dry patches or fine lines. The blush glides on effortlessly, leaving a soft, smooth finish.

Let's talk about the shades. Big Night is a beautiful rose pink that gives a perfect rosy flush, making it ideal for fair to medium skin tones. Red Carpet, an old rose hue, is a bit more subdued and works wonderfully for a more natural, everyday look. It's particularly flattering on medium to darker skin tones. Lastly, Premiere, a light coral shade, is just the right mix of peach and pink, giving a fresh, youthful glow that's perfect for any skin tone.

What really sets these blushes apart is their multidimensional glow. Each shade has a hint of highlighter swirled into the blush, which means you get a pop of color and a luminous glow in one sweep. It's like having a blush and highlighter in one, but the effect is much more natural and subtle. You get that lovely, lit-from-within look without going overboard.

Here I’m wearing my top pick from the three shades - Red Carpet. It looks more like a nude blush in the pan but actually comes out pinker than you think. I think it looks amazing on my skin tone! And the subtle glow is real; you won’t see chunks of shimmer here. Staying power is average for a powder blush at around four hours on top of a base, but it’s easy and compact enough to retouch as needed during the day.

Overall, if you're looking for a blush that gives a natural flush with a hint of glow, and cares for your skin at the same time, Spotlight's Rising Star Marble Blush is definitely worth a try. It's a versatile, easy-to-use product that will surely become a staple in your makeup bag.
