Glow On: The Revlon Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick has no time for your excuses

Highlighting is one of those makeup tricks that takes so little work but creates a huge impact on your finished look. Placed in strategic areas, it can make your skin look real good and your expression brighter, more well-rested! Highlighting used to be something only makeup artists do. However, along with contouring, it has become so accessible that even beginners and the laziest makeup junkies can get on board.

If highlighting intimidates you or makes you feel like it's too much effort (and we all have days like that), the Revlon Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick (P575 for 8.9 grams) is here to the rescue. It comes in two fool-proof shades that are smooth as butter, correctly pigmented, and softly bright. The stick deposits juuuust the right amount of glow onto the skin, plus it's easy to blend with just the fingers.

There are two shades: Pink Light, a pearlescent cool pale pink for fairer skin tones, and Gold Light, a warm champagne for deeper skin tones. Either one works for my medium skin. In this look, I'm using Pink Light. It's so pretty!

I like that this doesn't enhance skin texture; on me, I get this fine, sparkle-free glow that shows up well without being obnoxious. You do have to be careful about depositing too much product. It can be a creasy mess if you try to layer it as the stick is on the softer side! One layer is more than enough to highlight key points - the cheek bones, bridge of the nose, and upper lip.

Staying power is just average at 3-4 hours for a cream product. It has a powdery finish, but doesn't entirely set. It's fine though unless you're super oily.

Overall, I would recommend the Revlon Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick to those who need a quick, daily highlighter that takes less than 15-20 seconds to perfect. I love the soft glow that it gives to skin and the generous amount of product in a stick. It's ideal for dry to combination skin. Oily girls might not appreciate its non-setting cream formula.

As it happens, Revlon has a warehouse sale now until July 31 only. Visit the G&A Building / Warehouse in 2303 Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Makati, Mondays to Friday from 8am-5pm. These sticks probably aren't on sale yet, but this is your chance to grab some faves from the brand!
