Nailing It: The Happy Skin x Posh Nails collab has four new celeb-inspired shades

We at PV are big fans of Happy Skin’s nail polishes! Made with nourishing ingredients like hydrolyzed keratin and almond oil, the chip-resistant gel formula delivers long wear without the need for UV lamps. They always hit the right spot when it comes to color selection, as well! Time and again, we were wowed from the initial release, to the collabs with Sanrio, Havaianas, and KC Concepcion.

When I heard that they would be releasing a new collaboration with Posh Nails, I was honestly excited. I felt this would push Happy Skin’s nail polish collection to another level as Posh Nails has been around since 2002, and is arguably one of the most popular nail salons in the metro today. Putting together the expertise of these two local brands just makes perfect sense.

So who made this match made in nail care heaven possible? It was none other than Carla Abellana! The talented actress is a self-confessed Happy Skin fan and also a business-savvy franchisee of Posh Nails. She introduced Catherine Ilacad, founder of Posh Nails, to Happy Skin co-founders Rissa Mananquil-Trillo and Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez and the rest, as they say, is history.

#HappySkinxPoshNails marries Happy Skin’s signature 2-in-1 gel polish formula with the four most requested hues at Posh Nails salons: white, nude, pink, and red. A winning combo, right? At the launch party, Carla expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, especially since Posh Nails has finally come out with their own nail polishes after 16 years in the business!

Sam Pinto wearing Luxe

Red is always a classic choice when it comes to nail polish, and Happy Skin X Posh Nails Express Gel Polish 2-in-1 Base + Color in Luxe (P299) totally delivers. I personally love how it makes red current and young by adding a hint of warm burgundy. If you’re looking for the perfect red polish, this is a great option as it looks flattering across all skin tones, including morenas.

Alessandra de Rossi in Pampered

Going for a more modern look? Happy Skin X Posh Nails Express Gel Polish 2-in-1 Base + Color in Pampered (P299) is a classic white shade that can be worn on its own for a clean, polished look for any and all occasions. It’s also a no-brainer choice as a nail art canvas, providing a truly neutral backdrop while making colors more vivid. Plus, white looks great on all skin tones.

Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi in TLC

Take the nude trend to your nails with Happy Skin X Posh Nails Express Gel Polish 2-in-1 Base + Color in TLC (P299). Low-key yet effortlessly chic, this nude beige shade works well for both work and play. This was the most requested shade at the launch event! Seeing it on several attendees, I can vouch for how well it works for different skin tones, which is always a challenge for nude nail polishes.

Carla Abellana in Posh

I opted to try Carla Abellana’s fave nail color shade since it looked so pretty on her tips. Happy Skin X Posh Nails Express Gel Polish 2-in-1 Base + Color in Posh (P299) is a very light pink that adds a sophisticated touch to any look. I felt très chic the moment the polish touched my nails - no wonder Carla favors this shade!

Posh, 6 days after nail polish application

To be honest, I was initially hesitant to try this shade because it’s so different from the nude pink or coral shades I usually favor. I’ve also always been biased against lighter colors because they tend to appear streaky and never last on my nails. But as the Posh Nails nail artist worked on my nails with a total of four coats (Happy Skin Nail Rebuilder Serum, 2 coats of Posh, and a final layer of Happy Skin Mirror-shine Top Coat) I was pleased to see that the color looked flattering on me! Surprisingly, Posh also wore well on my nails even when I went about my usual daily activities without regard for my manicure. After six days there were a few chips, but overall, the polish remained intact! The color also grew on me, reminding me that I should be more adventurous with color choices.

Happy Skin x Posh Nails Limited Edition Set

Happy Skin has nailed it yet again with their collaboration with Posh Nails. The color selection is smart - it caters to crowd favorites but adds a stylish twist to the usual white, nude, pink, and red. It’s a great choice for both beginners and nail fanatics alike, as the formula is long-wearing and easy to use. I’d recommend it for anyone looking to build their nail polish collection. It also makes for a great gift idea, especially for barkadas who may want to split the limited edition box set!
