My Experience With Nuwhite: Glutathione, Vitamin C, and Soap

Glutathione became trendy in the Philippines almost a decade ago. Back then, the pursuit of glowing white skin was everywhere, and glutathione quickly became a go-to. Today, though, whiter skin is no longer the goal; what we want now is smoother, glowing skin that looks healthy no matter your skin tone. What many people may not realize is that glutathione is actually an antioxidant, and skin whitening was just a happy side effect that brands capitalized on back then. Plenty of oral glutathione supplements are still on the market these days, but popular Filipina icon Marian Rivera has chosen Nuwhite as her glutathione brand of choice for five years now.

In the Philippines, Nuwhite was also the first to use Italian patented S-Acetyl Glutathione. This is recognized as a "more advanced and bioavailable form of Glutathione" that ensures maximum potency and that it is 100% absorbed by the body, comparable to an IV Glutathione. This is a meaningful distinction, as many oral glutathione supplements lose potency during digestion, so a more bioavailable form means your body actually gets to use what you are taking.

Aside from the skin whitening side effect, Glutathione also has other benefits. As an antioxidant, it helps slow down the aging process and strengthens the immune system. It also detoxifies and protects the liver and cells, which is one of the main reasons I take it. On top of that, it helps reduce the effects of stress, improves the quality of sleep, and increases energy, all of which add up to a noticeable difference in how you feel day to day.

A closer look at the Nuwhite S-Acetyl Glutathione (P1,880) shows other ingredients such as Sodium Ascorbate, Marine Collagen, and Vitamin E Acetate. There is a clear focus on antioxidants here, and they work well to enhance the benefits of the Glutathione content. Sodium Ascorbate is a gentler form of Vitamin C, Marine Collagen supports skin elasticity, and Vitamin E Acetate adds another layer of antioxidant protection. Each bottle contains 30 capsules, which is often enough to show results, thanks to the potency of the S-Acetyl Glutathione used in the formula.

I have been taking Nuwhite S-Acetyl Glutathione, and while I don't see the whitening side effect, I feel like the supplement adds to my general well-being. I mainly take glutathione for the detoxification benefits. I also find Nuwhite's capsules are easier to swallow compared to other brands I have tried, which is why I keep going back to it.

If having bright, healthy skin is the focus that you want, then adding the Nuwhite Whitening Vitamin C Plus (P599) is the way to go. This uses Niacinamide plus Vitamin C, specifically Sodium Ascorbate, which is non-acidic and gentler on the stomach. I also like Nuwhite's Vitamin C for this reason, as I normally cannot take Vitamin C in the Ascorbic Acid type since I find that it upsets my stomach.

Together with the supporting ingredients like Zinc, Collagen, and Rosehip, taking the Nuwhite Vitamin C supplement is said to come with a range of additional benefits. It whitens your skin while boosting your immune system, so you get both the cosmetic and the protective effects in one supplement. It also keeps your skin radiant and improves elasticity, which is where the Collagen really comes into play. Beyond that, it helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines, fades dark spots over time, and supports the skin's ability to heal and fade scars, making it a solid all-around addition if brighter, more even-toned skin is your goal.

The brand recommends taking the two supplements together to enhance the skin brightening and antioxidant effects. Adding the Nuwhite Glazing Milk Soap (P349) to the routine will support the glowing skin efforts from the outside. This has 10 beauty actives that provide fast skin whitening while keeping your skin hydrated and avoiding a peeling effect.

Using Nuwhite can lead to a glow up experience, as shared by the participants of the Glow For 200 Campaign launched last year. This year-long campaign celebrates women who glow from within through their confidence and inner beauty, welcoming new ambassadors in monthly batches throughout the run.
