I tried a Japanese mascara base and my stick-straight lashes are thankful

Looking for mascara that can help my eyes look bright and awake is my latest makeup obsession. I've been looking at different makeup brands including the famous Heroine Make from Japan. I've heard a lot of good things about their mascaras: great at providing curl, length, and volume though a bit hard to remove. Did you know that they have other complementary lash products too like the KissMe Heroine Make Curl Keep Mascara Base? Here’s my review!

The KissMe Heroine Make Curl Keep Mascara Base (P720) is applied in between curling lashes and applying mascara. It is meant to increase length and volume for a falsies effect that will enhance the mascara you'll use after it. Straight and fine lashes will benefit the most from this base.

They chose a slim, curved brush to "make it easier to apply from the roots without clumps and perfectly separated eyelash hair". I have to agree that the brush works and my lashes are coated evenly. You can instantly see my lashes look thicker. It has a noticeably blue tint though which I can probably wear on its own but adding a mascara on top makes the look more natural considering my hair color.

I mentioned Heroine Make's reputation of hard-to-remove lash products earlier so I was a bit anxious come removal time. But surprisingly, the KissMe Heroine Make Curl Keep Mascara Base is relatively easy to remove. The brand recommends 2 methods in removing this base: "soaking in warm water then washing off with a facial wash" or using the Heroine Make Speedy Mascara Remover. I don’t have easy access to warm water as well as the Mascara Remover. Cleansing balm works just fine as well as a dedicated eye makeup remover so I don’t hesitate to use the Mascara Base since I know it won’t be giving me a hard time removing it.

I really like the KissMe Heroine Make Curl Keep Mascara Base. It does the job by making sure my lashes stay curled all day long aside from making them look more volumized. I think with some more practice I can curl my lashes better then fixed into place with the Mascara Base before applying mascara. I’ll also probably use the Mascara Base on its own from time to time!
