This Kiehl’s moisturizer promises to be your new skin stress-buster

Fine lines, sun damage, and clogged pores? These are just a few of the skin problems I find staring back at me daily. There's a maudlin irony in how worrying about stressed, tired-looking skin adds to the problem! Thankfully, Kiehl’s just launched their newest product that aims to address all these and more – the Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream (P3,650 for 50ml).

Kiehl’s Philippines turned Kallista Nail Pamper Lounge into a Kiehl’s Pamper Pop-up for the launch event. They wanted us to experience the five promised effects of the Super Multi-Corrective Cream: lifting, sculpting, retexturizing, smoothing, and moisturizing. These skin benefits are brought about by the never before seen combination of Beech Tea Extract, Jasmonic Acid, and Hyaluronic Acid as main ingredients. Here's the lowdown on these actives!

Jasmonic Acid: A highly effective yet very mild, active known for its ability to support epidermal renewal and help to visibly correct wrinkles, fine lines, loss of suppleness and elasticity, while gently smoothing and retexturizing the skin’s surface.
Beech Tree Extract: Known for its ability to improve skin firmness and visibly improve plumpness and density.
Fragmented Hyaluronic Acid: Known to reinforce skin’s natural short and long term moisturization.  Additionally, it is known to improve skin elasticity while reducing skin roughness and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

The cream comes in a twist top purple jar with a flat plastic cover inside. If you're not too keen on scooping out with your fingers, you can use a small spatula like I do. The texture is thick when first applied but immediately dries down to a light and semi-matte finish.

I tried out the Super Multi-Corrective Cream for a week on my currently very dry skin. I used it alone save for eye cream as I wanted to see how my skin would react and if the cream’s five promises are kept. For the first five days of using the cream, I couldn’t stop raving about it as my skin immediately felt more supple and evenly moisturized! My pores didn’t look as large and obvious as before, and the almost matte texture of the cream made my base makeup go on easily with no need for primer.

I did note though that while the cream moisturized my skin, it wasn’t enough for my dry skin’s needs which is why nearing the end of my week of exclusive trial, I started noticing my skin looking a bit dehydrated again. I knew that I had to start layering more products to pack on the moisture. Exfoliating also helped and now my skin is back to normal as I’m happily layering the Super Multi-Corrective Cream with the Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate (P2,895) in the morning. The cream would probably be enough moisture if you have normal-oily skin but for dry skin like mine, layering is a must.

The Kiehl’s recommended routine for “amping up your age-fighting routine” include the new Super Multi-Corrective Cream as well as its partner Super Multi-Corrective Eye Opening Serum (P2,450). Classic Kiehl’s staples like the Midnight Recovery Concentrate (P2,895) and Ultra Light Daily UV Defense were also advised for use together with the Calendula line which recently launched a masque version.

If you're interested in investing in Kiehl's skincare, they have free skin consultations to help you find products that match your need! Kiehl's has stores at Greenbelt 5, SM Mall of Asia, Alabang Town Center, TriNoma, Powerplant Mall, Shangri-la, SM Aura, Ayala Center Cebu, SM City North Edsa, SM Megamall, and SM Makati. Visit their Facebook page for more details.
