Kanebo’s latest launch feels like their way of saying, “But wait, there’s more!” This drop has a little bit of everything: a well-loved product with an upgraded formula, bold new lippies that pack serious color, and even something completely new for the brand.
For those who aren’t familiar yet, Kanebo is a Japanese heritage brand that balances tradition with innovation, creating modern beauty products with meaning. Since opening their fflagship store at Mitsukoshi BGC, they’ve been introducing more Filipinos to the effortless elegance of Japanese beauty.
Kanebo transformed Café Allor into a chic little wellness retreat, complete with beauty stations where guests could play with their newest skincare and makeup. My first stop? Their new matte lipstick, the Rouge Star Breathe (P2,520/3.7g). It’s a matte formula that still feels moisturizing. It’s lightweight, non-cracking, and with just the right amount of slip. And because good matte lips always start with a smooth base, Kanebo also introduced the Rouge Scrub Melting (P2,000/3.1g), a gentle lip scrub to prep and soften before color.
These matte lipsticks come with a built-in blurring effect, giving you a soft-focus finish that lasts. While the finish is matte, the formula itself is surprisingly moisturizing. It’s made with Kanebo’s Misty Powder and Smooth Oil, which come together in a gel base that feels light - not sticky at all - and creates that soft, diffused look on the lips. There are eight vibrant shades to choose from, plus two limited-edition shades for those who like to collect: EX1 Melodious Coral and EX2 Spring Has Come. Just a heads-up: these special shades are only available while supplies last!

One of our favorite face washes just got an upgrade! The new Comfort Stretchy Wash II (P3,000/130ml) now has an even richer, creamier foam that not only cleanses but also helps skin retain moisture. Just massage the foam in and rinse, and you’ll notice that soft, moisturized feeling even after washing.

This full-body scrubbing cream buffs away roughness and dead skin cells with three kinds of dissolving scrubs - no microplastics here! - that melt into a nourishing oil as you massage it in. The oil leaves behind a moisture veil, so your skin feels soft, smooth, and hydrated after rinsing.
This one’s strictly for the body (not the face), and it works especially well on areas that need extra care like the elbows and knees.
