Scent-sational Debut: Issy’s First Fragrance Collection is Here

Issy has always aimed to make beauty feel easy and personal, and that philosophy shines through once again with their latest launch. From their clever custom palette system to this exciting new step into fragrance, the focus stays exactly where it should be: on you. Their motto? "Go with what feels right. Stop when it feels like you." It’s a vibe. The new fragrance collection just dropped, and while I know it’s nearly impossible to smell things through a screen, I’ll do my best to walk you through my first impressions.

Issy takes its first graceful step into the world of fragrance with the Eau De Parfum collection. For the uninitiated, an eau de parfum typically carries 10–20% perfume oils, which means it lingers beautifully on the skin for a few good hours, perfect for daily wear that doesn’t overwhelm. Just a spritz on your pulse points (think wrists, behind the ears, or even the collarbone) and you’re set. The collection introduces three distinct scents, each crafted with its own mood and intensity, and yes, they’ve got names that perfectly capture the vibe.

The first scent in the collection is Issy 492 Scent of Possibility (P1,499 for 50ml), which is described as “an infinite white space” and honestly, that’s a pretty spot-on image. Out of the trio, this one feels the lightest to me, thanks to its fresh, almost airy top notes, a gentle floral heart, and a clean, comforting base. It reminds me of crisp mornings and that glow of bright, early sunlight, like opening your windows to let the day in.

For the scent lovers, here are the notes:

  • Top notes: Aldehydes, Bergamot, Neroli

  • Middle notes: Jasmine, Lemon Blossom, Gardenia, and Lily of the Valley

  • Base notes: White Musk and Sandalwood.

The second is the Issy 551 Scent of Familiarity 50ml (P1,499) which has "a presence that is neither bold nor loud, but undeniably there". This doesn't have a really strong scent for me yet there's a weight to it that makes me think or recollect, hence the name, I believe. The memory it evokes is the warmth of snuggling into a hug. It has the following notes:

  • Top Notes: Green Apple, Bergamot

  • Middle Notes: Ambroxan, Jasmine, Moss Water

  • Base Notes: Iso E Super, Clean Musk, Animalic Musk

The last is the Issy 030 Scent of Intensity 50ml (P1,499) with a scent that matches its name. It has a warmer and spicier overall scent that can be considered kind of masculine by some. I like it though as it’s quite different than the ones I usually gravitate towards. This reminds me of late night conversations and has the following notes:

Top Notes: Black Cherry, Saffron, Nutmeg, Rosemary

Middle Notes: Incense, Amber, Jasmine

Base Notes: Leather, Suede, Guaiac Wood, Animalic Musk

I personally gravitate toward the lightest one, 492 Scent of Possibility, but in true Issy fashion, layering to create your own signature scent is definitely encouraged. At the launch event, I got to try out different combinations, and to my surprise, I actually loved how all three scents smelled when mixed together, the secret fourth scent, if you will. Still, my personal favorite combo is 492 and 030 Scent of Intensity at about an 80-20 ratio. It gives me that soft, endearing fragrance I usually go for, but with a little extra depth that adds a hint of mystery.

Each EDP is available individually, but there’s also a Perfume Discovery Set (P599) that includes 3ml of each scent. It’s the perfect size to play around with layering or wear them on their own before committing to a full bottle. I also have to give a special shoutout to the packaging and branding of this collection—it’s beautifully done, as expected from Issy. The bottles come with a magnetic cap for that luxe feel, and if you order through their official website, www.issycosmetics.com, you’ll get a drawstring pouch and a fan as GWPs with a minimum purchase.

The new Issy EDP Collection is now available online and in-stores.
