Mini and More: Happy Skin Releases Travel-Sized Fresh Morning Dew Setting Sprays in Matte and Glow

I love it when beauty brands release minis: the size is very convenient for putting together a travel makeup kit as well as for trying out new products before committing to a full-sized one. Happy Skin just released two mini setting sprays with a 16 hour wear time and I'm excited to try them out.

The Happy Skin Fresh Morning Dew Mini Micro-fine Matte Setting Spray 30ml (P499) is just the more portable version of Happy Skin's bestseller Happy Skin Fresh Morning Dew Micro-fine Matte Setting Spray 60ml (P699). For those not familiar with it, it's a 2-in-1 product that works as smoothening primer and a mattifying setting spray with the following benefits:

1. Temperature Control Technology (TCT) that "cools makeup to increase longevity"

2. Anti-blue light technology

3. Film Forming Polymers (FFP) to make a "water and wear resistant film"

4. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) that creates an "invisible barrier to set makeup and curb excess oil".

Happy Skin says this is for oily to combination skin and it worked well as intended when Liz tested it for several hours upon its release. There's no reason to not use this even if you have a different skin type though, as it's also recommended by the brand to switch it up based on your skin, your mood or the weather. I think this will be really refreshing to use during the summer especially with the TCT's cooling effect. Using it now in December, I don’t really feel the cooling effect so much as it’s not as hot but I do  find that it makes my makeup blend into my skin better. As for longevity, I reach for the matte version whenever I want my makeup to stay fresh for longer and I’ve had good results ‘til around 4-5 hours. Just a quick blotting and it extends even more.

Compared to the Mini Matte Setting Spray, the Happy Skin Fresh Morning Dew Mini Micro-fine Glow Setting Spray 30ml (P499) is a new release that doesn't have a full-size version. It's also a 2-in 1 product that works as a hydrating primer and a glass-skin setting mist, with the following benefits:

1. HydroGrip Technology that "deeply nourishes and hydrates for a supple and even base"

2. Film Forming Polymers (FFP) to make a "water and wear resistant film"

3. Moisture Lock Complex that "enhance skin luminosity from within through a blend of 5 moisture binding actives"

This one is for dry to combination skin but as mentioned earlier, switching it up or even mixing the two variants is also recommended by the brand. I can see this being a great addition to a routine when creating a glowy makeup look. I also like using it before applying makeup to help prep the skin so if you’re looking for a 2-in-1 on the go spray, then this might be your bet.

These two setting sprays are not only cute and handy, they also do their job. The super fine mist sprays are pretty good too and non-aerosol so it’s better for traveling. It would probably be best to try in store to see which variant you’d prefer but Liz’s try-on showed how it works with oilier skin. My personal experience is based on dry, combination skin and I’m also pretty satisfied with my results.
