I love Kiehl's: the Skin Rescuer and Line-Reducing Concentrate

I only started using Kiehl's last year, but since then it's been a staple in my skincare regimen. I'm a huge huge fan of the Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleanser, the Ultra Light Daily UV Defense, Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, and the Midnight Recovery Concentrate! I find Kiehl's to be gentle on my skin while still being extremely effective at the same time. The products also never cause me to break out.

A couple of months back, the brand sent me some new products to try. I've been using two of them regularly until I switched to a new regimen - purely for review purposes mind you, not because the Kiehl's stuff didn't work out. Anyway, here's a review of the new Skin Rescuer and Line-Reducing Concentrate! I'll save the Beautifying BB Cream for next time as I have only used it once.

The Kiehl's Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator (P1,700) is a basic moisturizer that is formulated to lessen the effect of stress on our skin. Its key ingredients are the Rose Gallica Extract (limits the release of stress signals), Mannose (a sugar from the wood pulp of birch and maple tress, said to increase the moisture barrier), Chamomile Extract (to sooth skin), and Squalane (from olives, to prevent dehyhdration).

It is interesting to note that this moisturizer only has seven ingredients. I was surprised but pleased to know that the concentration of the ingredients are not diluted by fillers and additives.

So is it an effective moisturizer? Definitely! The Skin Rescuer is a thick gel that has a very subtle, clean scent. It moisturizes skin immediately and keeps it hydrated throughout the day. It can feel heavy in our hot weather, so I prefer to use only a tiny amount during the day and to slather it on in the evening.

The Skin Rescuer doesn't do much beyond moisturizing, soothing, and smoothing the skin, but it is darn well good at these things. My skin felt supple and just generally nice while I was using it. Try it if you're looking for a nourishing daily moisturizer for your dry to combination skin! Notice the price tag too, as P1,700 is very reasonable for a 75 ml bottle.

And here is the Kiehl's Powderful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate (~P3,000). It's another one of those things I've had for ages (I have an older bottle from a year ago) but never get around to using. When I do, I'm like "Why did I not try this before???" This serum is designed to lessen the appearance of wrinkles. It's mortifying but I already have a few fine lines around my mouth! After a month or so of using this serum, they are somehow less obvious.

Observe:

There are still lines around my lips but check out the corner area. Last May, the lines were quite marked, but by July the lines have receded. Cool huh? I'm sure there will be more improvement once I continue using the serum.

The Line-Reducing Concentrate is silicone-based so it can soften lines instantly. The silicone makes it a great makeup base, actually, as it helps makeup adhere and blend better. Will it make your base last longer? Not considerably so. It will just look better!

And that's it really. :) I highly recommend the Kiehl's Skin Rescuer and Line-Reducing Concentrate if they suit your skin's needs. I can't say that they will be okay on oily skin, but if you have dry/combi skin, mid-20s to 30s, then this duo should work for you.
