One lipstick, three ways: Here’s how to create beautiful Living Coral lips for 2019

Living Coral blew our collective minds when it was announced as Pantone’s color of the year for 2019. It is such a beautiful color, and it’s so easy to work into our existing wardrobe! We probably already have a piece (or five) in this shade just begging to be put back into heavy rotation. Of course, makeup-wise, the color itself is quite flattering on any skin tone. I’m here to share three of the lip looks I came up with to inspire you to wear Living Coral more. Here’s the twist: I used only one lipstick shade!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Lipstick in Surreal Sunset

As long as there are gorgeous lipsticks making their way out in the world, I'll be a happy beauty blogger. Haha! One of the newest lippies to drop into my clutches is the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Lipstick in Surreal Sunset (P1,700) which will be out in counters today. It's a beautiful coral pink shade housed in an elegant navy blue bullet. In terms of formula and color, I'd say Estee Lauder outdid itself on this one!

I actually put off wearing this for a week because I thought it was orange, and I am just not feeling that color for this season (odd but what can I do). I was pretty surprised that Surreal Sunset is anything BUT orange! The color off the tube would suggest otherwise, right?

Anyway, here's a quick rundown on what I like and don't like about Estee Lauder's latest lipstick!

What I love about the product

  • It's pigmented! One layer is enough to get this rich, vibrant color.
  • Amazing texture. It's creamy and buttery, but it hugs the lips tight without being uncomfortable. This is designed to be longwearing, and it does indeed last 4-5 hours!
  • It's hydrating enough that I don't need to wear balm underneath. Note that I don't have dry lips, however.

Shiseido Week: Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Fleur OR341

It's Shiseido Week once again! This week I'll be talking about my new finds from one of my favorite brands ever. I was able to pull out some of the most interesting items in their store sooo watch out for those features in the next few days! Promise, you'll want to see what I chose for this week. ;) Anyway! I'll kick it off with a lipstick - the Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Fleur OR341 (P1,250).

I say this over and over again: Shiseido lipsticks are super underrated. This is one of the best lipstick formulas I've tried to date, as they are super pigmented, fairly moisturizing, long-wearing, and comes in beautiful shades. Like Fleur here. This was part of the 2013 Spring Collection but I think it's still as relevant now as it was when it came out.

Happy Skin Get Cheeky With Me Blush in Summer Fling

Back then, I used to be able to remember exactly what makeup I wore. I never had to take down notes as to what lipstick, eyeshadow, foundation, or lipstick I have on. These days, however, I simply can't seem to remember a lipstick I wore a week ago. :/ Either I'm too distracted or I have too much of the same thing. Or I'm getting older-er?

Anyway! Today I'd like to talk about the Happy Skin Get Cheeky With Me Blush in Summer Fling (P699). What a mouthful amirite? That aside, it's a great blush. It's a coral, glowy shade that stays on for a good five hours!

Shade and finish. I think that everybody needs only two blush shades: one, a petal reddish pink and two, a pinkish coral like Summer Fling. This shade can suit fair to dark-medium skin tones, creating a sunnier, warmer complexion. This has super fine shimmer in it to fake a glow-from-within flush.
