The six ColourPop must-haves that you shouldn’t miss out on

ColourPop is a brand that needs no introduction; you might be living under a rock if you haven’t heard of this brand! I first heard about ColourPop from Kathleen Lights when she introduced their Super Shock Shadows (the OG eyeshadows that come in a pot). The brand started with that and their empire grew when they introduced the Ultra Matte Lip. This lippie quickly catapulted them to fame, with the global beauty community going berserk over the amazing color selection and crazy affordable prices! I am a proud ColourPop addict, and if you haven’t tried them yet, I’m here with a list of what you should hoard buy, stat!

Ultra Satin Lips (P500 at BeautyMNL)

Everyone might swear their lives on the Ultra Matte Lip but my heart belongs to the Ultra Satin lip formula. It’s still under the liquid lip category, but this one dries down to a very comfortable satin finish and isn’t as drying as the UML. They have the same packaging and consistency as the UML, too, but it isn’t transfer-proof and you might have to reapply after eating or drinking. These last for a good 4 to 5 hours on me without eating oily food. If you have extremely dry lips like I do, this is your BFF as the formula won’t emphasize the cracks on your lips. It is also very easy to remove unlike the UML, which take a workload of cleansing to do. My favorite shades are Lost (warm red with brown undertone), November (warm peachy pink), and Frick N’ Frack (deep rosy mauve).

Lippie Stix (P450 at BeautyMNL)

Before the birth of their liquid lippies, ColourPop had the Lippie Stix, which are the OG lip products of their brand. These lipsticks are available in 3 finishes: Matte, Crème, and Matte X. I personally still pick a regular lipstick over a liquid lip for everyday use, so I always have these in my makeup kit! The packaging is such a no-brainer and very easy to carry around. I don’t have the Matte X formula but the regular Matte formula feels very creamy on the lips - very similar to a MAC Matte lipstick, in fact! It glides on very easily with no tugging whatsoever, and doesn’t at all feel heavy or drying. My favorite shades are Taurus (matte warm brown) and Brink (matte warm rosy pink).

Super Shock Shadows ($5 at ColourPop.com)

As I mentioned, the Super Shock Shadows are the first thing that got me hooked on the brand. The formula and texture is truly unique - a cross between cream and powder. It has this bouncy whipped texture that actually gets a dent when you lightly press on it. If you want extremely shimmery and glittery shadows, you can’t go wrong with these eyeshadows! I prefer using my fingers to apply as brushes don’t really pick up enough product. The pigment payoff is intense, and it wears on me for a good 6 to 7 hours. Just make sure to always close the cap casing well as the shadows dry up easily because of the delicate formula. My fave shades are So Quiche (olive and violet duochrome) and Lala (warm pink copper).

Pressed Powder Shadows ($5 at ColourPop.com)

When ColourPop announced that they would be doing pressed shadows, everyone went gaga! I love collecting single shadows because I enjoy customizing my Z-palette with my favorite go-to transition shades. These ones are so affordable, and I tell you it’s just as good as a MAC single! They also have a lot of shades to choose from, plus a variety of finishes that include Matte, Satin, Metallic, and Duo Chrome. I prefer their matte shadows because although a bit powdery, they have great color payoff - you almost don’t need an eye primer because they’re very pigmented! Plus, they are incredibly long-wearing to boot. My favorite shades are The News (matte warm pinky coral) and Making Moves (matte hot pink with orange undertone).

Eyeshadow Palettes (about P1,300 at BeautyMNL)

It was everyone’s dream for ColourPop to release an eyeshadow palette, so when they finally announced the good news, it pretty much got everyone shook! I have been obsessed with eyeshadow lately, and I always grab my ColourPop palettes whenever I do my look. That’s easy enough to do as the packaging is very travel-friendly. They have a lot of palettes to choose from with a great array of shades; there are taupes and browns, oranges and peaches, and even more adventurous hues. Just name your fave color scheme, and they probably have a palette for you! My personal favorite is this Kathleen Lights Dream St. Palette because I always lean toward warm browns and champagne shimmers.

Super Shock Highlighter ($8 at ColourPop.com)

If you are looking for an affordable no-fuss highlighter, the Super Shock Highlighter is definitely for you! It has the same consistency as the Super Shock shadows, but the pans are bigger and the texture is bouncier. I actually just tap the product to my cheek and blend it out with my fingers - so easy! I really recommend using just your hands to apply this so it gives the right amount of coverage and blends nicely without disturbing the base makeup underneath. You can also choose to build it up to an intense highlight or sheer it out for a more natural glow. On my combination-oily skin, the highlighter wears on me for a good 6 to 7 hours, which is impressive! My personal fave is Smoke and Whistles (cool toned icy pink champagne).
