Drugstore awesomeness: The Nichido Tinted Brow Gel
I heard about the Nichido Tinted Brow Gel (P238) from this makeup forum I follow on Facebook. The color seemed interesting and packaging looks decent too, for the price! I grabbed it the next time I was at Watsons. I love brow mascaras so if I can find a cheaper one to stick to, well, I ain't complaining.
There are four shades available. They all look suspiciously similar to MAC's brow mascaras. I got Ash Blonde because I want to go for lighter eyebrows every so often, and the ashy light brown shade looks perfect for my purposes. The color has some shimmery bits in it, like MAC's, but I don't mind as the shimmer is there to add dimension to the brows.
Ash Blonde swatches very similar to the MAC Brow Set in Beguile. If you love MAC's Girl Boy, I think you'll find a dupe in Nichido's Salted Caramel! Color pay off is a bit faint on the first layer, but two layers can get me soft, perfectly shaded brows without the need to lay down pencil or pen beforehand.
The wand of the Nichido Tinted Brow Gel is long and has stubby tips to deposit the product. It's a breeze to use on my thin brows. I love that there's no need to hold back on product as the shade is light and buildable. However, if you have thick, lush hair, the wand may fall short in properly shading the entirety of your eyebrows.
Staying power is pretty good. It doesn't fade on my eyebrows even when I've worn it for over five hours. It might perform differently on very oily skin, however, as the formula is not waterproof.
Overall, I am happy with the Nichido Tinted Brow Gel. For only P238, I get pretty nice brows with only one product! You know how I love layering but sometimes I'd rather just breeze through my brow routine; this brow mascara helps with that. I also like using it as a topper after pencils if I want to soften my brows a bit. Ash Blonde works on me too even if I have red hair at the moment. ^_^ Will definitely keep this in my kit!
Let me know if this looks like the brow mascara for you!
