FOMO no mo': Seven beauty brands that you probably didn’t know were here

For many beauty girls, online shopping has been a life-changer as it has given us access to brands that aren't available here. So far, we've enjoyed discovering new K-beauty products through Althea, and stocking up on cult favorites from Sephora. While the wide range of available products is hard to beat, sometimes you just want to walk into a store, pick up something that catches your eye, and take it home immediately so you can try it out!

It's particularly exciting to get something from a brand you've never tried before, but what? We’ve put together six underrated brands that few people seem to know about plus the best picks to try from each one - you just might be surprised to learn about what's been under your radar!

Naruko

Naruko is a super popular Taiwanese brand that specializes in concentrated skincare with great ingredients. They've been around in the Philippines for about two years now but haven't done a lot of marketing so most people might not notice it in the department store. There's an extensive line available locally in select SM Beauty stores, but they're also on Zalora PH

WHAT TO TRY: Naruko is famous for their Tea Tree line, particularly the Toner and Night Gelly.

Goodal

If you’ve been to Korea, you'd know that Club Clio is one of the best places to go to for brands like Peripera, Clio, Mamonde, and Aritaum. No need to fly there anymore because we finally have our own local Club Clio in Trinoma, and included in the limited selection is the brand called Goodal! While Clio and Peripera are both makeup-focused brands, Goodal mostly carries skincare that makes use of the Korean tradition of fermentation in creating natural products.

WHAT TO GET: The bestselling Moisture Barrier Liquid that claims to be toner, moisturizer, and essence in one has gotten many rave reviews for being amazing at skin hydration. The Keratina Anti-aging Peel Toner is also supposed to be a great toner and exfoliator in one!

Ciracle

Ciracle (rhymes with miracle) focuses on skincare, particularly on anti-aging and anti-wrinkle concerns. And here's the bomb: Ciracle is the sister brand of CosRX and OST C20! Make sure to keep your eyes open as only selected SM Stores carry it at the moment. You’ll probably have better luck finding it at Zalora.

WHAT TO GET: the Anti-Blemish line for acne-prone skin, and their Pimple Solution CC Powder if you’re looking to try a makeup and skincare in one to cover and heal those pimples!

Deoproce

Did you know that this brand is actually under Samsung? Yes, that Samsung! Most beauty sections of SM Store have a counter where they carry a wide array of skincare and makeup products at competitive prices. The packaging of some of the products look very luxe, and make use of natural ingredients to revitalize skin from harsh environmental factors.

WHAT TO GET: Their Spider Web Multi Care line contains spider web proteins and hyaluronic acid to nourish and moisturize the skin; and the Piggy Collagen Bounce Cream helps increase skin elasticity.

Nicka K

This makeup brand started out in America more than two decades ago, and carries an amazing array of products that won’t break the bank. The most expensive product in their kiosk is around P699, and lipsticks go for as low as P99! Aside from being affordable, their color cosmetics come in a wide array of colors and finishes. Find it at the SM Store Beauty Section!

What to get: Their bestsellers are their lipsticks that come in different colors, finishes, and price points. If you’ve always wanted to try an unconventional color without breaking the bank, check out Nicka K!

Kracie

Japanese skincare is famous for their high quality but there's no need to splurge on the expensive stuff. Kracie offers a more affordable price range without sacrificing quality. You can head over to Beauty Bar and find their Hadabisei line of face masks, Himawari and Ichikami hair line, and Aroma Resort body line to name a few.

What to get: the All-In-1 Masks offers a cost-efficient option for sheet mask lovers as you can get them individually, in sheets of four, and as a pack of 40; and either the Himawari or Ichikami shampoo and conditioner to keep hair in their best shape.

Scinic

Pronounced as “sai-nik”, Scinic is all about that skincare that makes use of plant ingredients in treating skin issues. Currently, you can find Scinic in the separate K-beauty shelves of Watsons. However, they only carry the Coconut Cleansing Water and the Coconut Lip & Eye remover. The Coconut Cleansing Water is a coconut-based micellar water that promises to be gentle at makeup removal.

WHAT TO GET: For now, Watsons only carries the two products locally. We hope that they bring in the All In One Ampoules, which are very popular online!

Have you seen these brands in stores yet? Which products have you tried?
