Editor's Pick: The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Sonnets have been written about this concealer. After using it for a couple of months, I now understand why! The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (P399) is a cult favorite for a reason. Never mind its promises of being a "treatment concealer" - let's be real, this is not skincare - but it's a crazy good concealer that covers and plumps up the skin beneath flawlessly.

This concealer is rich in silicones that make it glide on skin while filling in lines without breaking a sweat. The pigmentation is pretty good too, in that it can instantly banish dark circles without looking cakey. This concealer can cover minor blemishes and spots too! It's very easy to blend with just fingers or any brush you prefer. It's a tool-agnostic concealer because it has such a wonderful, easy to work with texture.

Staying power is super good. I've worn this for up to ten hours with barely any fading or creasing. When it did crease, I just pat it down with a clean finger and it's all ok again. This is a fairly water-resistant concealer so it won't just fall apart the moment you sweat and cry. Actually, I feel like this can even be used as foundation due to the staying power + coverage + shade match. Medium is PERFECT for my NC35 skin tone.

The packaging is, for lack of a better term, annoying. It took me A LOT of twisting to get the product to come out at first, and I feel like the sponge tip absorbs way too much product. Someone suggested that I simply remove the sponge tip but I've been dawdling about that because I do like how the sponge neatly applies the concealer. Well. I'm still thinking about it.

Overall, I highly, highly recommend the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer to anybody looking for a drugstore concealer that can conceal circles and fill in lines effectively. It has more coverage than I personally need (I do prefer sheer concealers on my eye bags as my problem is more of puffiness) but this would be great for those whose main issue is dark circles. Still, I love it. Is this better than the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer? YES. In every way.

What do you think of this product? Does it look like something you'd try?
