K-beauty addicts, rejoice: Laneige is back in the PH! Here's what to expect

Last January, our K-beauty chinggus were heartbroken when Laneige Philippines started holding massive sales and, eventually, closed all branches. We thought they’d be gone forever, but Laneige is officially back in SM Makati, The Beauty Source!

For the launch event, they flew in Korean makeup artist Ryan Lee, who is a teaching assistant at Hera Makeup Academy. He showed the opening crowd a makeup look that was done over a Laneige skincare-prepped face. This is key as the application and coverage of the rest of the cosmetics will look and last better. He also highlighted K-beauty trends; non-overly straight brows were of note!

An Exclusive Zone houses the latest releases

Focusing on one location (for now), Laneige Philippines offers a more cohesive collection than I’ve ever seen before. All the shades of the Two Tone Lip Bars are here for us to check out! There are tons of BB cream variants and shades as well, and even an Exclusive Zone highlighting the latest items tailor-recommended for Filipinas, In the skincare aisle, you can also spot the Laneige Homme line, a skincare line formulated specifically for men.

Here are my top picks from the reinvigorated Laneige boutique:

The Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control is a lightweight, oil-absorbing, semi-matte finish cushion foundation with a little bit of pore-blurring action. It makes a lot of sense for the Philippines, where more people tend to be oily and have pore problems. I love that they have 8 shades that actually go from pretty fair to medium-deep, instead of just the usual two of fair and fairer. Katsy includes it in her top cushion recommendations!

The Laneige Homme line sits in the center of the skincare aisle

We also can’t get enough of the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask and Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. The water-based formulations pack way more hydration than one would expect. In fact, Marielle counts the Water Sleeping Mask among her heat wave essentials!

A dizzying array of Two Tone Lip Bars, in different shades and finishes

We’re also pumped for the return of the Laneige Two Tone Lip Bars. I remember hating these at first because I wasn’t used to blending the two tones and that created a really messy look. Once I got over that though, the combinations are so pretty and the looks are so easy! Liz has featured some of the shades of both the lip and eyeshadow bars here.

We’re stoked to see Laneige back! Are you? There have always been ways to get their products online, but I like checking out a physical store to check skincare textures and actual shades of color cosmetics. Visit their new boutique at SM Makati – The Beauty Source.
