Budget Beauty: The best facial cleansers under P500 (Part 2!)

The key to having good skin is consistency with your skincare routine. The most basic and important part of this routine is, of course, cleansing. Cleansing your face is a non-negotiable as it rids your face of dirt, oil, bacteria, and dead skin. You can not put any makeup or skincare in your face unless it's completely clean!

With the abundance of facial cleansers in the market, it may be hard to choose which one would work best for you. Luckily, there are some really good ones right at the drugstore and supermarket aisles. We've already put out a list of our best under P500 cleanser finds, but here's more to choose from!

Cetaphil (P180 for 118ml) is a cult classic. Just about everyone's tried it, and for good reason! This is my personal fave because it’s good for everyday use. Also, if you find yourself without access to water (like when you're on a trip or stuck in traffic on your way home from work or school), you can actually use this without water. Just apply and massage onto your skin as normal, then gently wipe it off with some tissue or a clean towel.

For those with acne-prone, sensitive, or dry skin, we recommend the Physiogel Hypoallergenic Cleanser (P333 for 300ml). It won’t dry up or add to the irritation of your skin because it’s soap free. It's great for bad skin days, like when you're dealing with a horrible breakout, dry patches, or skin rashes.

The Bioré Uru Uru 2-in-1 Cleanser (P299 for 160ml) is a great double-purpose product. It can also be used to remove light makeup in just one or two washes. Pumping out the cleanser releases a thick foam, so you no longer need to lather it up to activate the ingredients. Perfect for gals who want a quick skin care routine!

Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Brightening Foam Cleanser (P214 for 100g) is another classic favorite. It contains Mulberry extract which lightens your skin by reducing the melanin formation. If you have normal to oily skin and are experiencing dullness, try this for a more radiant complexion. It smells really good, too.

Garnier’s Light Complete Multi-Action Brightening Foam (P84 for 50ml) uses pure lemon extract to brighten and even out your skin tone. It also contains salicylic acid, which is great for gently exfoliating the skin and removing comedones. This also prevents pimples from occurring and is a good option if you are acne-prone.

If you're looking for a more natural formulation, try Aloe Derma’s Acne Removing Deep Cleanser (P450 for 100g). It's made from Organic Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tea tree extract (which is good for oily skin!), and rosemary essence. It’s effective against dirt and oil but does not leave the skin dry. It’s gentle so don’t expect any irritation (unless you are allergic to some of its ingredients). It also regulates sebum secretion. It maintains the pH balance of the skin so you won’t get breakouts or wrinkles in the future. This is perfect for those with combination to oily skin. This product is only available in select Watsons and supermarkets though, so check here to find one near you.

Whatever cleanser you use, make sure you get it's full benefits by washing your face the right way! Did you find your favorite facial cleanser in the list above? What facial cleanser from supermarkets and drugstores do you use?
