Recap: The #ProjectVanity7th Anniversary Event

Doing what you love and getting paid for it is a rare privilege. Because of Project Vanity, so many amazing opportunities have turned up for me, and I still can't believe what I've been able to do because of it. This is why when someone tells you not to pursue what's really in your heart because nothing profitable or worthy will come of it, do not listen. If you fail you would have discovered a few crucially important things about yourself so it's not a waste of time, effort, and money. If you succeed, you would be happy.

Ask yourself, and I mean really ask yourself: why not?

Anyway, just wanted to do a  quick recap of what went down at the Project Vanity 7th Anniversary Event last March 7 at Beauty Bar in Central Square, BGC. I've already shared my gratitude list - hope you've seen that! Here's a highlights video thanks to New Media Factory TV (NMFtv), a production company I've recently partnered with. Expect more awesome videos from us soon!

Our host Karrots Nazareno started the event with a few words, then I proceeded to demonstrate a quick summer look. I feel that summer = bright colors isn't necessarily a given. I went for a chill, casual look with neutral shades in thin breathable textures. I wanted it to stay on with minimal maintenance during a hot day!

That means long-wearing natural eyebrows (K-Palette Eyebrow Pencil), champagne and bronze eyeshadow combo (from the Happy Skin eyeshadow palette), a nude mocha lippie (Prestige Intense Lip Crayon in Bare It All), a sheer base (Smashbox Primer + Happy Skin ZZ Cream + Smashbox powder), subtle blush (TheBalm Instain), and contoured bronzer (TheBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer).

My mentors also came over to share some of their life lessons: Rissa Mananquil-Trillo of Happy Skin Cosmetics talked about how to be a successful entrepreneur. It's basically all about dreaming big, seeing far into the future, and working with the right people! Cheryl Tan-Chua of Beauty Box Corp (distributor of K-Palette, Cure Aqual Gel, and Kracie) talked about how she manages her time between her business and her family. She says it's important to set a priority and to stick with it, no matter what. For her, it's always family first!

May Samson of Burt's Bees Philippines discussed how to make it in the corporate world. She says it's important to prove your worth and to make the effort to stand out by presenting yourself to your superiors well.

Lastly, my beauty blogger friends ShenShariMarthaTellie, and Nikki came by to do a special performance haha! We did a Lip Sync Battle where everyone fake sang and then danced to some music. I loved this part because we all had fun and the audience was amazing. Thank you guys again for doing this! Next year ulit? Lol.

Of course, all the guests came home with an amazing loot bag thanks to Beauty Bar, Happy Skin, Beautybox, and Burt's Bees. All in all a successful 7th birthday! Thank you again for all the support through the years, and to Beauty Bar for sponsoring this event for the community. To more successful years of all things kikay!

Thank you to Katie Kate of Lilaccola.com for the photo collages. <3
