Hello from the Project Vanity team! Thanks for dropping by.

The Project Vanity Top Ten for 2014: Cosmetics

These are the ten makeup products that made my year in beauty special and can only be taken away from me by brute force. Seriously though, I've thought long and hard about what went in here. I've got a lot of favorites but you can always search for them by category. I wanted to produce a list that's narrow and has only products that I use ridiculously regularly.

So, here they are and why I love them!

Benefit Fake Up Crease-Control Hydrating Concealer (P1,300). Did you know that under eye concealer, in the wrong hands or just hands in a major rush, can easily make your bagz look even worse? I love the Fake Up because it hydrates, illuminates, and provides just the right amount of coverage every time I use it. It makes my eye bags look refreshed and awake every time!

PS, I don't recommend using a heavy coverage concealer on your dark circles on a normal day out. It's too much, brah. Choose something less obvious like the Fake Up.

Ellana Mineral Blush Duo in Kitten/ Peach Passion (P460). It's silly how I never fully reviewed this blush palette. I'd mention it every once in a while but never dedicated a whole post to it! Gosh. Anyway. This is probably my most-used blush set in 2014. Kitten and Peach Passion look totally gorgeous combined, and they last on my cheeks pretty well too (around 4-5 hours). Really surprising for a mineral product!

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Spot-Control Foundation (P1,998 for the refill and P1,500 for the case). Hands down my favorite foundation last year! It's my most-used, most-abused face base, and something I always have with me when I travel (SPF25PA++ baby!). I just recently bought a refill, in fact!

Happy Skin Feeling Sculptacular Face Contour Kit (P1,199). This is the best contouring palette, IMHO. It's natural and wears well throughout the day. It's the only one I've found so far that doesn't look harsh in daylight and in flash.

LORAC Mega Pro Palette. This palette has all the possible colors I need to create most of the looks I can think of. In fact if I didn't have to test other palettes I'll probably be using this all the freakin' time.

Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara (P595 in Watsons). I have several back ups of this wonderful stuff. It makes my lashes super long, volumized, and curled all day. It's a bitch to remove but I can guarantee you that this won't smudge or budge no matter how long you wear it. (Within reasonable bounds of course, don't leave any sort of makeup on your face for too long.)

Estee Lauder Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Baby (P1,400). The brand manager of Estee Lauder PH once mentioned that this sold out in Japan because women love buying it for their weddings. This is my most-used lipstick in 2014 since it's an MLBB color that flatters me, moisturises my lips, and stays a decent amount of time. It smells great too!

Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer (P1,430). Ahhh, my secret weapon on bad and/or dull skin days! I love using this under my foundation to get the glow that stress or sickness has stolen from me. It's moisturising too so I often skip moisturizer when I wear this. Try this if you're looking for something to take ten years off your skin, stat.

NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base (P1,350). I never wear eyeshadow without this primer. It's my HG! It keeps my eye makeup fresh and solid all day.

Zoeva Luxe Complete Brush Set (P6,231 at Luxola). Best brush set ever! My top two most-used brushes are the Luxe Cheek Finish (for blush and contouring) and Face Definer (for foundation and finishing powder). It's quite expensive but the quality is way more than what you pay for. ^_^ It's worth the investment, imho, I barely use any other brush from my other sets.

And that is it for my top cosmetics in 2014! Tomorrow, watch out for my top 10 skincare products. ^_^

Let me know you thoughts, and your favorite finds too!
