Benefit turns 1!
Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 9:20AM It's been over a year since Benefit landed on our shores. Between then and now, oodles of makeovers, cool contests, beautiful eyebrows, and flawless poreless faces have rained down in Manila! I really love this brand, from the cheeky packaging down to the quality of the products. It's rare that I get a miss whenever I try something new from Benefit.

To celebrate its first year in Manila, Benefit held a small event for the press last December 15. The brand also took the opportunity to share its latest lip and cheek product, Fine One One, and a campaign with our local celebs. Stars like Ruffa Gutierrez, Christine Reyes, Alyanna Martinez, Bianca Valerio, Phoem Baranda, and Maggie Wilson got to pose as Benefits iconic characters. You'll see the photos later. ;)
Here are snaps of the event and the 411 on Fine One One!

Bianca Valerio was the lovely host that day

And this is Fine One One, a tri-colored lip and cheek tint that includes a highlighter. It has three color bands and is shaped like a thin oblong to comfortably glide over the cheeks. When blended together, you get a nice pink-peach shade that should flatter most skintones. It's not overly pigmented which is nice if you want to avoid clown cheeks, but it's not so light that you need to layer several times to get a good color pay-off.

I believe that Fine One One will be available this month. :D I don't have the exact price at the moment but knowing benefit this shouldn't go over P1,700. Hopefully I can get a full-sized item for a review!

Swatch. It's a thick layer here so it's quite pink but one thin layer is enough to get a nice flush. It dries into a powder finish.
As promised, here are the pics of the Benefit icons. I love how all the celebs look exactly like the characters they were playing. Amazing!

Ruffa Gutierrez. Not sure if the Hello Flawless persona has a name!

Christine Reyes as Fine One One

Maggie Wilson as SPYGal (for Porefessional)

Phoem Baranda as Honest Leah (for They're Real Mascara)

Bianca Valerio as Bathina (Benefit's body polish/shimmer)

Alyanna Martinez as B.right (skincare line)

Alyanna this time as Peggy, the rep for the Brow Bar
So there you go! That's what's new at Benefit. To more years with this fun fun brand!

Your pink heels are so girly and pretty. The Fine One One looks a little gimmicky, so I too am hoping you can get one for a proper review. :)
Will be waiting for your review on the Fine One One :)
It's good that Benefit has a local endorser na!
Excited to read your review about the Fine One One. Your Shoes is cute love it :)
Will Benefit Cosmetics also open here in Cebu? I hope they do.
I visited their store last year around June, when I had a short trip to Manila. The packaging of their products are just adorable and I love how pink and girly the shop looks. ^_^
BTW, ms Liz have you tried Bathina? I've always wanted to get one because it makes your skin look alive and vibrant!
ooh, this was cool, i like to try the Bathina too, since I hate my eyebrow.
and I'm so excited with your review on Fine One One!
Just this December me and my friends made it a habit to go to Christmas bazaars and there was one particular store that sells Benefit Cosmetics they have the mascaras, blush-ons, and Benefit's porefessional. I wanted to have the Bella Bamba and porefessional but I could not afford it. Compared to the store in the bazaar bella bamba was cheaper by 400 i think and the porefessional was only 900 the store even had brochures of benefit cosmetics. So i thought that they were selling authentic products. Then I researched how to determine fake bella bamba and porefessional

when i went back to the store I realized that it was fake. I hope some of the readers check out the links. It might be cheap but be careful what you put on your skin it can cause permanent damage. Specially for those who have a sensitive skin.
We use make up to cover our blemishes to enhance our look but if you're not using the right make up your skin might get worse.
@frangefries Thank you for those links! People who wants to make a good investment with Benefit cosmetics do not deserve to be fooled by fake mechandise.
I love Benefit's packaging! Makes me want to collect them all. haha. But I can't: too pricey. I have to make sure that I will only buy what I need (but they're all so adorable). haha. Looking forward to your review. I've been keeping an eye out for cream blushes and highlights.
@Hollie, I heard they're opening this year in Cebu...maybe 2nd half..let's cross our fingers.
I love that Benefit has such a wide range of products, that's not limited to the non-color makeup they're known for. I've always had a good experience with them (e.g. highlighter, tinted moisturizer, eye primer), but I have recently tried their cream shadow and I'm in love!
I think one of the products that most bloggers seem to be remiss with is the Benefit Erase Paste. I've tried it several years ago when online shopping was just starting to bloom and I haven't switched since then. Texture and staying power is very comparable to that of Cinema Secrets and Mac. The only downside is the limitation in terms of available shades. So one should always be sure to try it on and swatch it before purchase. Have you tried it, Liz? ;)
I've always wanted to try the mascara and Bathina! Happy anniv to Benefit Philippines! Happy New Year Liz! :)
The Benefit brand looks like such a fun girly brand! Kinda reminds me of Etude House :)
Well im not a pastel pink kind of girl, it still looks fun. What's a must-have from Benefit, Liz? Is it the tint? Might try it out :)
Aside from the quality of benefit products, what strikes me most from this brand is that they dress up their products real well! The fun and quirky packaging really gives off a young chic and artsy vibe that makes for cute products worth collecting!
This brand is really fun! I love how creative their packaging are. Your outfit for the event Ms. Liz is really girly :) I love how they present their product advertisement. Thumbs up for the creative team of Benefit!
Btw, I have a question Ms. Liz. I'm quite intrigued on how the Benefit's new Fine One One works. Isn't it hard to blend when you put a swipe of it on your cheeks? How accurate is it in highlight + blush + contour application? I hope you can acquire this one for review. A YAY for that future review! :)
Happy 1st birthday, Benefit Philippines! God bless Ms. Liz ♥
