One does not simply blog
Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 7:56PM Have you guys seen the Preview September cover? It features fashion bloggers Tricia Gosingtian, Laureen Uy, and Camille Co. When I saw it, I was like, whoa! Whoa.

I think these girls deserve to be on the cover - they are intensely influential and it's only fitting that a magazine steeped in the hottest trends would recognize that. I mean, not just by featuring them inside the pages but by putting them right up there in front!
This cover makes blogging mainstream here in the Philippines. For real this time. It's no longer a basement project by emotionally tortured geeky teenagers / forever young adults, it's a medium where all the cool kids hang out. Is that a bad thing? I don't think so, but I do believe that blogging - at least for new blogs cropping up - simply cannot be treated as a wholly personal endeavor anymore; it's now ultimately a way to market yourself or what you're trying to sell. Could be a product. Could be an idea.

More than anything, however, bloggers making it on a Preview cover should serve as an inspiration to us all. I'm sure these girls didn't think they'd be so big so quickly when they started out. They had the resources sure, but they were also naturally talented and always pushed against their own limits. One does not simply blog. You work at it and pour your whole self on it before it would be worth anyone's time.
Kudos to Tricia, Laureen, and Camille!

True! I wish they included Kryz Uy as well. =)
I haven't had the chance to meet Laureen (I'm sure she's lovely!), but both Camille and Tricia are incredibly down-to-earth women aside from being super talented and gorgeous (inside and out). Preview chose their bloggers well! :)
This is amazing. And I agree with what you wrote. Kudos to them indeed!
I'm not used to seeing them with their hair like that :)
Sana they chose bloggers with more diverse looks. Tricia and Camille look kinda similar.
After reading this post, I remembered that Senator Sotto said something like "Bakit ko i-quo-quote 'yung blogger? Eh, blogger lang 'yon?" on his plagiarized speech issue. Funny. It's an entirely different issue I don't want to tread on anymore, but he obviously doesn't know how much influence blogs have nowadays.
I love the three fashion bloggers' outfits! Their hair bothers me, though--just looks TOO tight and neat. Kind of bordering on artificial already. Still, love the overall concept of putting them on the cover.
Hope to see you on the cover too, Ms. Liz! Who knows? :)
Very inspiring indeed! Kudos! :)
Congrats to them! :D Anyway, yeah, I wish they include Kryz as well :)
True, one does not only blog, it's passion and loving to share what you know with other people :)
Hmm.. Halos kasunod lng ng pglabas ni Xiaxue aka The Most Influential Blogger in Asia-Pacific sa Lifestyle Magazine ng Sg itong cover na to.. Ibang level na ang mga bloggers!!! :D
I agree that they are kind of recognizable except maybe for Tricia? @Denise: Si Sotto talaga... Cant believe he said that. By saying that he has crossed a lot of lines. Tsk tsk. Blogging takes a lot from a person. It is a hobby but for some its a lifestyle. Blogs take a lot of work and gives a lot to the readers so who is he to say that?? Tsk tsk. I agree, good for Preview to feature the bloggers! Love Laureen here.
I agree. Sana Cheyser P. or Kryz Uy were in here rin.
Pero, I love how they've come up with a blogger feature. Who knows? Baka next time, beauty bloggers naman with you on the cover. *wink*
Great fashion bloggers! It is very weird to see them with those "very pulidong hair" but they pulled it off :)
