Snoe Oil For All Argan Oil

Argan oil has been the darling of the beauty industry for over a year now. I'm sure you've seen all these products boasting of having argan oil as their star ingredient, and I'm sure you've also wondered why! Here's the deal: this oil, which so far can only be extracted by hand from a tree that grows in Morocco, is nutrient-rich and has anti-inflammatory properties. You can use it from head to toe, if you wish!

Most pure argan oil products in the Philippines can cost around P1,500 upwards. Understandable considering it takes 45 minutes to crack enough nuts - by hand! - to make a four-ounce bottle of this stuff (or 118ml). But according to the owner of Snoe, Jen Gerodias-Diaz, argan oil doesn't actually have to cost this much. She imports the Snoe Oil For All Argan Oil straight from Morocco and sells it for roughly ~P800 a bottle.

Granted it's not a particularly big bottle, but I find that you only have to use a little to make it work. I gave my bottle to a friend because she mentioned that argan oil can help relieve skin asthma. True enough, it did help hers! She says it keeps the itchiness at bay.

For your reference, here are other uses of argan oil:

  • Smooth it all over your hair to prevent frizz and to keep your mane moisturized.
  • Massage it on scaly, wrinkly, or just over-dry hands and feet to bring them back to life.
  • You can also use this on dry cuticles and nails. Very useful if you love wearing nail polish! This oil gives excellent TLC in between manicures.
  • Helps with soothing acne, psoriasis, eczema, and wrinkles due to its high Vitamin E and essential fatty oils.
  • If you want to feel like a modern Cleopatra (or she who bathes in milk) you can use this as a body moisturizer. Bongga ka 'teh!

Okay after writing this post I feel sorta bad that I gave my bottle away. -_- Anyway you should definitely try the oil from Snoe mainly because it's slightly more affordable than its competitors. I mean, 100% moroccan argan oil IS 100% moroccan argan oil. Doesn't really matter which brand.

So, what do you think of argan oil? What's your favorite way to use it?

PS Snoe is incidentally having a huge sale this August. Hopefully their argan oil goes on sale too!

hi liz, what is the size of their argan oil? how do you apply it? did it spill kasi the label looks like it has oil. just asking.

Hi Jen! Just use maybe 2-4 drops on your hair and hand. Some of the product leaked out I think because it rolled around in the bag before I got home!

It seems to have the same uses as Human Heart Nature's Sunflower Beauty Oil (only pricier) heehee. I was wondering, why choose argan oil one over sunflower oil?

I just got into the oil routine last week, I'm using jojoba oil as I read that it helps rid oily skin because it mimics the sebum tricking our skin to produce less oil because there seems to be enough on the surface. It could take about a month for results to show and a purging process could happen 2 or 3 weeks from first use(which I can clearly see on my skin happening now).
Anyway, these oils(argan, sunflower, olive, almond, jojoba) are DA BOMB. I use mine as an after-shower body oil (10 drops) -goodbye dry skin!, for my hair (4 drops) - dampen hair, massage oil onto scalp and ends, shampoo, then rinse. Hair is gorgeous for 24 hours or more. As for the face, I'm in the so called purging phase (I'm praying to the Oil Goddesses that this is not the common breakout). I think it takes some time to make it work on the face because you have to try different methods that suit your type of skin (mine being oily with enlarged pores but analyzed as dry -help me figure).

Ooh..I've always been curious about argan oil :D So far, Snoe has a lot of products that piqued my interest. I might just visit them this weekend hehe

I just use virgin coconut oil. It's far cheaper (about P150 for a 250-mL bottle) and works similarly. It softened my calluses (which no other moisturizer could soften), tames frizziness, moisturizes my oily skin, prevents acne due to its antibacterial properties, keeps my cuticles soft, and gives my skin a healthy glow. I have skin asthma too, and while VCO doesn't heal it, it softens and moisturizes the dry, flaky areas, thereby reducing itchiness.

And get this---VCO helped my lashes grow longer. I think this is because VCO nourished and strengthened my lashes and gave them a chance to grow long instead of breaking off and shedding.

There's nothing argan oil can do that virgin coconut oil can't. EVCO is readily available here and I think Filipinas are better off saving their money, reducing their carbon footprint (of shipping from morocco) and support a more sustainable local product. :)

This kinda reminds me of the Panacea Oil from Krave. It's also anti-inflammatory and can be used anywhere on the body. It's so interesting to try.

Been reading a lot of Snoe products lately. Sometimes, on FB and at times in twitter. Read also some product reviews on different blogs. Do you think this is better than the virgin coconut oil? I use this type of oil kasi for my head especially now na medyo malamig. This is the time when my "anit" gets dry tapos merong dandruff. You've also mentioned that it can be used as body moisturizer, di ba sya greasy and di magstick sa clothes? Will await for your reply and thanks in advance! :)

Thank you for the schedule. I'll visit their Festival Branch. May I know how many ml is the bottle?

August 3, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterGen-zel

Hi guys! Thanks for the feedback on oils. I haven't actually tried EVCO, but now I'm interested. I'll check it out soon.

@Jackie That I don't know since I haven't used VCO. Argan oil isn't greasy as long as you use a tiny bit (you don't need a lot anyway) and it will get absorbed naman.

@Gen-zel No info on that, sorry! But my very broad guess is it's around 20-25 ml.

Have you tried their Hair Heroes products? Super love. :)

August 3, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKelly

Heard good reviews about Snoe particularly Hair heroes prods. I think Im checking em out one trip to the mall. Thanks guys!

PS.
I read that Coconut oil can cause skin break outs esp for those with sensitive oily skin. But to each is own. Love that we can be able to share products, tested whether it works or not :)
Happy weekend y'all!

Meant to each his own. Whoops.

August 4, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterManilaJen

Yeah, coconut oil is actually one of the comedogenic oils. Surprisingly, though, it has kept my pimples to a minimum. A friend tried it and it works well for her too.

August 4, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAviva

To Aviva and ManilaJen

I just want to clarify, coconut oil is comedogenic, but virgin coconut oil is not. The heat makes all the difference because it alters the composition of the oil. VCO in fact has the smallest particles among beauty oils so not only is it non-comedogenic, it gets absorbed faster too. :)

August 4, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJoyce

Joyce, thanks for clearing that up! Well, that's the very reason VCO makes for a great a moisturizer--it gets absorbed quickly. :D
