Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturizer

It's no big secret that I have an ongoing love affair with Clinique. The brand is quite pricey locally, but the products I use work extremely well on my skin. Again, it's always a matter of being hiyang, so I'm really lucky that I found my skin's "soulmate"!

I'm a fan of the Clinique Moisture Surge because it gives me a nice glow and more supple skin without the oiliness. However, it's not designed to help much during and after a big breakout. I try a lot of products for this blog so something always ends up giving me pimples - I need something that can help clear them and deal with the pesky blemishes that crop up afterwards. That's why I wanted to try the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturizer (P1,600/50mL).

It's pretty good. Here's why!

What I love about the product

  • Helps dry up pimples faster, especially the smaller ones. It has salicylic acid, a key ingredient that targets acne. It has no parabens and has very little comedogenic ingredients. (See here for reference)
  • It lightens blemishes, but this takes time, two weeks at least. I'm very happy with it nonetheless.
  • Blackheads and whiteheads are no longer a problem whenever I use this.

Super light gel texture

  • The water-based gel formula is immediately absorbed on the skin with no greasy feel. It also has a refreshing menthol tingle which I personally like (although I do know some girls who mind).
  • Prolonged use gave me smoother skin with a more even tone.
  • Could be used as a primer because of the matte finish and dry texture.
  • The tube is sealed with foil so you know that you're getting a fresh product.
  • A little goes a long way. I usually use a pea-sized drop for the whole face, twice a day.

What I don't like

  • Pricey! Other than that, I'm very happy with the product.

If you're acne and blemish-prone, I highly recommend the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturizer. As the name promises, it will really help clear up your skin problems. However, please note that this is a moisturizer exclusively for oily skin. If you have dry skin, this may dry up your skin more.

Don't expect it to clear up your blemishes in a jiffy. It takes some time but, at least you'll notice some lightening in a few weeks! I've been using it for a month and my major blemishes have faded, BUT since I broke out again (due to this irritating mineral foundation I'm testing) I have new blemishes again. Huhu.

I suggest using this moisturizer with the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Oily Skin Formula) for better results. Swear, these two products really made me love my skin!

I love it and I intend to buy a tube when I run out. ;) It's one of those things that's expensive but worth every cent! I use the Clinique Moisture Surge when I'm not breaking out though, so if you're confused about which one to get, diagnose your skin needs first. If you have good skin and just need brightening and a better, finer texture, use the Moisture Surge! If you break out a lot, use the Anti-Blemish Solutions Moisturizer.

As for me, I rotate both according to what I need for the day. Oh, please don't forget: what works for my skin may not for you. So try to score samples first before buying!

So...share! What's your current favorite moisturizer?

Ooh, these are great products, but really pricey! But then, it's the cost of beauty and good skin! I like the fact that it can also be used as a face primer and that it's water based so that it is readily absorbed by the skin. Perfect for gals who are always in the run! I might try this product soon. Thanks Ms. Liz for the information! =)

The only thing that's working for me right now is Celeteque's. I use the one with SPF during the day and the one without at nighttime. :/

I'm actually loving the Kiehl's moisturizer from the blue range (got several samples when I bought something). It has a lightweight formulation and leaves skin matte. Sayang lang that it doesn't have SPF so I can only use it at night. And since it's Kiehl's for sure it's gonna be pricey as well.

Does this moisturizer have SPF?

I'm actually on the hunt for a great moisturizer that would work well with my skin type. Maybe I should try this. Thanks for the tip. :)

Have you tried Alba Botanica's Acnedote line? Healthy Options have them. I wish you can make a review about that product. I think it's almost the same as Clinique, only it's more on the organic side. It doesn't have paraben, as well.

Please, please, make a review of it.

Thanks, Liz! :)

Is there an alternative to this for dry skin from Clinique? :)

June 21, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKari

Hi there! I’ve already shared my love for Clinique’s products. However I must admit that their products are pricey. Other people might not mind splurging on products that work and worth their every penny but in my case, this is not an option. :) This situation enables or rather coerces me to find cheaper alternatives that would otherwise be comparable to the quality of the more expensive brands.
As for the best moisturizer my top picks include TBS Carrot Moisture Cream, Celeteque, and Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer. Whenever I experience break outs I use TBS’s famous tea tree oil and TBS Tea Tree Night-Fade lotion. I’ve been using these products for more than 3 years now and they have become staples in my skin regimen. I swear by this products and these are my affordable “beauty secrets” to achieve that clear, poreless and glowing skin. :)

I have to agree, Clinique is the only brand that doesn't make me break out. I have really oily skin kasi, and when I put makeup that's not for me, I have really bad breakouts. Sadly, super mahal nito dito, and the closest I ever got to their products is when my sister buys them :)

im still looking for the perfect skin care line, when i was younger im super oily and acne prone and the sad part is im really hyper sensitive, i react on every product, even VMV nowadays, id love to try clinique line, but its too pricy, i hope they have samples so i can test them skin is now a bit dry on some areas and oily on the nose and chin area, still very much allergic to everything...ill try clinique very soon after i finished all the other brands i have :(

I was given a free tube of that during you clinique party part2., It was effective at first., but after a month, it seems like my skin got immune to it and i started to have small bumps again on my cheeks. :( It really frustrates me. :(
I am still on a look out for a cheaper moisturizer.,

Hi Mick! Oh no! If the reaction persists, it's best if you stop using it. :( Really sad it didn't work out.
