So yesterday one of the maintenance personnel in our condo knocked on the door and said that the power will be out from 11pm to 6am. As we had things to finish, Marco and I thought to stay in a hotel overnight. After calling up at least four hotels, we decided to settle on Marriott Manila since it's the nearest one (albeit not as affordable as I might like).
from the Marriott Manila website
I guess we just wanted to relax and break the routine for even just one day. Anyway, for those who are looking for a place to stay (especially Balikbayans, it's just right in front of NAIA 3) Mariott is a good choice. I wouldn't say the best since I expected a bigger room and at least a free breakfast because the rate is not cheap, but I am very happy with the service. I also loved the gorgeous pool area, which I sadly forgot to take a picture of before my 7am swim.
Food from the restaurant is just so-so for the price. We ordered spaghetti bolognese and kare-kare, which tasted rather bland. I think it cost P1,700 for the dinner, including drinks.
My favorite place in ANY hotel is the bath tub. I love Marriott's bath tub since it's roomy.
Mini bar with crazy expensive snacks. Those cans of local nuts? P300 a pop.
I mostly watched National Geographic all night. I need a TV and a cable subscription. :/
And now, for the makeup part! I wasn't seeing anyone else or going to any parties so I decided to just bring stuff for a basic look. I brought only makeup that I didn't need any tools to apply, something I can put together in five minutes.
Estee Lauder makeup pouch
Clinique Supermoisture Makeup, Paul & Joe Creamy Cheek Color, Estee Lauder Pure Color in Bois De Rose, Bobbi Brown mascara, Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero, Shiseido Supplist foundation, Aquafina lip balm
The Clinique Supermoisture Makeup is a godsend. It's a foundation, but it's really more of a tinted moisturizer. Hmm, how do I put it. If you've always wished for a tinted moisturizer to have more coverage, this is it. I don't even need a lot to moisturize my whole face. Well, my review is long overdue!
That thin silver thing you see on the side is Marco's Macbook Air. I can't wait for mine next year *crosses fingers*
Fresh-faced. Clinique makes some of the best foundations out there.
Aaaand that's it. We certainly enjoyed our brief overnight stay at Marriott. Still, our favorite hotel would be Linden Suites. It's more affordable, has big rooms, and nice service. Pity it's rather far from where we would normally go.
Oh, in case you're wondering - this post is not sponsored by Marriott Manila. We paid for everything. :)
