Quick Review + Swatches: The Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette

If you're looking for a warm eyeshadow palette, you might want to check out the new Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette (P1,464 at Sephora.ph) which just dropped on the site the other week. This has ten shades of caramel-inspired goodness that should especially flatter brown Filipina eyes. Each shade (save for two which are blending shades) are creamy and pigmented in one swatch! The packaging with the gold pattern reminds me of sticky caramel wrapped in luxe foil - my favorite thing.

These shadows are vibrant and solid on the lids even without primer, and are oh so easy to blend. It's my first time to try a palette from Zoeva. Honestly I didn't have a lot of expectations going in, but I'm happy to report that I was not disappointed with the formula even though their brushes are what they're mainly famous for.

And so we come to the colors! Everything looks gorgeous and are easy to work with. Wax Paper and Universal Delight are not as smooth nor as pigmented as the rest, but I believe it's because they're for blending - Wax Paper for the brow bone, and Universal Delight for the crease. I wouldn't want to drop a pure solid white on my brow bone, y'now what I mean?

The rest of the shades apply very well, but I find that many of them look way too similar when worn. The swatches certainly show the difference, but I was disappointed that Aftertaste, Alchemy, 182C and Start Soft (all matte shades except 182C) look too much alike when applied on the lids. They're great colors - don't get me wrong - but I was hoping for more variety. When used together they just kind of fall into each other. They would be great as individual lid colors though!

Liquid Center, Finish Sensual, and Edible Gem stood out to me. These are workhorse colors that should play well with others.

Here's the look! Love how pigmented the colors are. <3

And that is that! By the way, have you checked out the Sephora.ph Black Friday Sale? It's only until midnight TODAY! You can get 20% when you use our code BFPV upon check out too. We don't make any money from the affiliate link, but it'd be nice to let Sephora know we sent you over. Thanks!
