Raid My Routine: How I prepped my super sensitive skin months before my wedding

Whether you're preparing for a special occasion or simply pampering yourself, achieving healthy, glowing skin is always a win. As for me, February was not just love month, but also my wedding month! So, I'm excited to share my skincare routine for getting bridal ready.

My routine consists of my tried-and-true products, as well as some new additions to achieve my skincare goals in time for the big day. I have sensitive and allergy-prone skin, so these products have passed my high standards of never causing irritation.

My Basics

The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is no stranger: it’s gentle, soap-free, and and causes no irritation while cleansing. The Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash was a new addition when I got travel rashes after my flight to Singapore. The wash calmed my face and helped reduce the redness while also removing any allergens I got from the plane!

The HADA LABO Hydrating Lotion has had a grip hold on me since my first bottle, I have since gone through three. I use this on my face, neck and even my arms for that additional hydration boost. My tip: pat this on while you’re still wet from the shower to lock in that extra moisture. Trust me, if you haven’t added this to your routine yet, you totally should!

I buy huge bottles of the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion when I can and always scoop up the sets when there’s a deal. The formula is moisturizing yet non-sticky and is one of the few lotions that can get me through an entire day without me needing to re-apply.

My Creams and Actives

For my face I prioritize hydration, calming and correcting. I’m a beginner when it comes to eye creams and have only used Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream. It works to brighten and plump up my under eye area reducing fine lines. I’ve also been using Kiehl’s Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum to strengthen my skin and repair my skin barrier from pollution and irritation as it packs a punch with deep penetrating hyaluronic acid.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 is formulated with squalene and Vitamin E which is great for improving elasticity and retaining hydration. I place this on my lips first and then I add the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on top to lock in the lip balm and have it work extra hard on my chapped lips.

I have a few dark spots from the ghosts of acne past so I use the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution which have helped lighten up these marks. I apply the Hada Labo Hydrating Light Cream face cream to seal in extra moisture and finish it off with Anessa Sunscreen Skincare Milk all over the face, neck and shoulders.

My Nighttime Basics

After a long day’s work, I cleanse and apply night serum and moisturizer. For my serum I use the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Serum, which works to sort of revitalize my skin and relax me before bed with their mix of essential oils. I then use the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask as a moisturizer, it’s super moisturizing and not at all greasy! I don’t have to worry about staining my pillowcases.

For When I’m Lazy

I saw this the Saborino Morning Facial Sheet Mask at Watsons and it was an immediate add to cart moment: ‘Your 5-in-1 skincare in 60 seconds’, who could resist that! I love skincare but there are days when I just don’t have the energy or I’m running late. So I pop on a Saborino mask and call it done. A pack with 28 sheet masks inside is an absolute steal for only P895.

I think I’m bridal ready. My skin is smoother, with reduced texture, and some stubborn dark spots have lightened up. My doctor even called me rampa ready! I think I did pretty good considering I was working with my dry skin and dermatitis.

So now that you’ve raided my routine, what would you take from it?
