Love: Canmake Tokyo’s Quick Lash Curler Long Mascara delivers lots of lash length

While lipstick is the number one makeup product I cannot live without, mascara is definitely number two. There’s just something so fabulous about applying a coat of mascara. Personally, I feel like I’m about to take over the world whenever I’d wiggle the wand between my lashes. Applying mascara for me is an instant pick-me-upper!

The only thing I do not like about mascara is its shelf life. It’s just so hard to say goodbye after only 3-6 months. On the bright side, aside from being sanitary, of course, we get an excuse to buy and try different mascaras.

Speaking of trying different mascaras, when Liz asked me to try and review the Canmake Tokyo Quick Lash Curler Long Mascara (P690 from Lazada), I was both skeptical and excited. Skeptical because Japanese products usually don’t work for me, and excited because it’s always nice to try something new.

Packaging

This mascara’s packaging is straightforward and quite simple. The black tube carries the brand and product name and it has a few cute details printed on it. Although the packaging sort of reminds me of the Le Volume De Chanel Mascara, this one’s more on the girly and dainty side.

Formula

Some people prefer a wet formula, while some lean towards a dryer one. Well, I’m happy to report that this one is just in between! I don’t see this drying out on me anytime soon. I also appreciate how light the formula feels on my lashes.

This particular tube is the brown shade of this mascara, which is also available. The black shade is identical aside from the color of the packaging itself.

Application

Since the formula isn’t that wet, I didn’t experience any transfer when applying the mascara. The curved comb mascara wand made it such a breeze to apply on both my upper and lower lashes, and inner lashes as well. Quick lash, indeed!

Effect

Curl, curl, and curl! Length, length, and length! True to its name, this mascara instantly curled my lashes and packed a punch in the length department! Since its formula isn’t thick, my lashes didn’t become spidery at all. Also, I can argue for skipping curling the lashes when applying this mascara. I honestly don’t see the need for it!

Wear time

After 8 hours, which included a 2-hour nap (as evidenced by the redness in my eyes), my lashes still look so good! It’s really Iong wearing! I guess the “Long” in its name doesn’t only pertain to length of the lashes. When it came to taking it off, I summoned an oil-based eye makeup remover for the job.

Overall thoughts

For P690 a tube, I would definitely recommend this mascara for someone who looking for length or for someone who isn’t comfortable using an eyelash curler! Also, this mascara comes in both black and brown. You know what, I’m adding this to my Zoom makeup kit because it skips the step of having to curl my lashes. Ah, I love it when the skeptic in me is wrong!

P.S. Liz told me that the Japanese makes the best mascaras. Now I understand why.
