blk’s New Day to Night Fragrance Duo: Morning Light and Midnight Drive

I was there when blk first released their fragrance collection last December, and it turned out to be a solid addition to anyone’s fragrance wardrobe this 2026. They launched a sixth scent, Second Skin, around the middle of the year, and now they’ve released a new duo. The two seem to have contrasting moods at first, but together they may offer a seamless day-to-night connection.

The new releases stay true to blk Scents’ signature formulation of 25% fragrance oils, which makes them “pure perfume” like the previous releases. They still come in the uniquely shaped, gradient-colored “B” bottle, in 50ml (P1,199) and 20ml (P599) sizes. Longevity is quite good, going up to over 12 hours depending on how much you spray. I find this to be relatively true, though I personally stick with just 1-2 sprays since I find the scents a bit overwhelming when sprayed too much. Below are the names, descriptions, and fragrance notes of the two scents:

Morning Light (Bright, Airy, Hopeful)

Morning Light is the daytime half of the duo, and the notes read exactly like the name. It opens with white peach and verbena, so the first impression is fruity but kept in check by something green and a little sharp. The heart is orange blossom and freesia, both soft white florals that lean clean rather than heady. It settles into a linen accord and flower musk, which is where the “airy” part comes in: that fresh-laundry, just-showered sort of finish that sits close to the skin.

Midnight Drive (Bold, Magnetic, Carefree)

Midnight Drive is the evening counterpart, and it starts out softer than the name suggests. Mandarin and apricot on top give it a juicy, almost sunny opening. Osmanthus and magnolia in the heart keep that going, since osmanthus has a naturally apricot-like, slightly leathery quality that bridges the fruit above and what comes next. The base is where it turns: leather and Georgywood, a warm woody note, pull the whole thing darker and give it some weight. It is still a fruity floral at its core, just one that has somewhere to be after dark.

Morning Light is said to evoke “a fresh start wrapped in morning sunshine,” and that tracks. The peach and verbena opening is cheerful without being sweet, and the light floral notes in the middle keep the overall scent from getting heavy. It’s the kind of thing you spray on before a day of errands and then forget about, in a good way.

Midnight Drive, in contrast, is meant to feel like “city lights, warm air, and your favorite song on repeat.” Even with fruity and floral notes in the formula, it is noticeably sharper than Morning Light once the leather and wood settle in, and it has more of a unisex appeal because of it. Personally, I like this one better. It has a bit more character, and it’s the one I’d reach for when I actually want to smell different.

But of course, fragrance preferences are very personal, since body chemistry changes how the oils come across on skin. Getting the 20ml size first is a good way to try a scent out, and it’s handy to carry around in the blk cosmetics scents Keychain Case (P249). If you find that both work well for you, the blk cosmetics scents Day to Night Signature Set (P1,999) gets you both 50ml sizes at a good promo price.

The new blk scents are now available online at blk’s official Shopee and Lazada stores.
