The Happy Skin x Love Marie Collection

Today is International Lipstick Day, so let's celebrate it with the hottest lippie collection in the country right now! The Happy Skin x Love Marie collab is a six-piece line that was released just last Saturday. It features three new Shut Up & Kiss Me Mini Matte Lippies and a totally new product: the Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Matte Lip Liners. I'm most excited about the liners - surprise - since I've been using pencils for my lips so often lately.

I've shared my one-on-one interview with Heart Evangelista-Escudero earlier so this round is dedicated to just the products in her collection. Check it out!

The Shut Up & Kiss Me Mini Matte Lippie (P499 each and P1,299 for the set of three) is a small crayon that packs a lot of punch in terms of pigmentation and that matte factor. I've reviewed this formula previously so I won't go into too much detail, but I must say I love how non-drying these mattes are and how creamy they go on. Staying power is quite nice at 3-4 hours.

Each mini lippie packs in 1.7 grams of product. For your reference, a full-sized Happy Skin lippie is 3.5 grams. I actually like this size because I never finish a lipstick anymore, anyway. I'd prefer to have more colors to choose from, colors that won't take up unnecessary space.

My advice is to buy the whole set because it is most sulit that way. You get the heart box which you can re-use to store some keepsakes (just remove the plastic mold) and three different shades to play with.

All Heart is a mellow brick red - the perfect training wheels before you roll with an all-out bright red. New Love is a gorgeous, flattering nude caramel that Heart says is her favorite! Nostalgia on the other hand is my top pick. I love the mauvey, semi-deep sepia hue, which I don't think I have yet in my collection.

And here is Happy Skin's latest creation: the Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Matte Lip Liners (P499 each). I know, lip liners might not set some pants on fire, but they are so sexy lately after Kylie Jenner released her lip kits! And I swear, if you've ever wished for fuller lips and product that sticks even after eating, LIP LINERS ARE THE WAY TO GO beneath your lipstick. Perhaps, the only way to go outside of truly long-wearing formulas.

I love these liners since they don't drag on the lips and have this ultra smooth finish. They're not drying, too! I normally let a lip balm sink in first though before doing any lip makeup. If you've got flakes, matte colors naturally won't go on well, so make sure to exfoliate first before doing anything else.

As for the shades, they all *sorta* match with the three new lippies but are different enough that you can wear them alone. The difference is more obvious in person. Heartthrob is a lush deep red, First Date is a mauvey pink, while Skinny Dipping is a peachy nude.

I've also swatched the lippies and liners together, for you reference. Notice how you get a more intense color and I swear - you can eat with this and it won't come off.

And that is that. ^_^ What are your faves? Have you gotten your hands in this collection yet?

Grab the Happy Skin x Love Marie lippies at your favorite stores and at happyskincosmetics.com. Part of the proceeds will go to Heart's chosen charity, Corridors for Hope, which benefits cancer patients.
